Cotton Candy Clouds at The Stylenanda Pink Hotel, Myeongdong
Myeongdong is one of the most popular districts in the city of Seoul for shopping. But, between shopping til you drop, be sure to check out the cool cafes in picturesque facades in Myeongdong too. The striking pink exterior of Stylenanda’s third flagship store which was opened in the bustling shopping district of Myeongdong in Seoul’s city center screams to anyone passing by that they’ve just got to enter. Even if you’re not into Stylenanda’s cosmetics or apparel, you’ll appreciate this themed building from bottom to top if you liked the film it’s based on. In the States it seems like everyone has started putting up their holiday decorations well before even Thanksgiving has passed. Once that was taboo but these days clearly what was taboo is not anymore (you know what I’m referring to, right?). In Korea, sometimes you can be hard pressed to see any holiday decor to get into the spirit before or after Christmas. It is there, if you know where to look though! caFACE: A Selfie Obsession Of The Latte Variety
In a selfie obsessed world, why not dive in and start sticking that face on every other thing under the sun including the latte that you savor in the cafe up the road? I’m not anti selfie, do NOT get me wrong. I’ve been known to take a few. Hey, I took a selfie of myself holding a latte with a selfied photo of me in this here post. How often can one even do that? I dare say the chances are slim that most will ever be able to do this but if you’re in Seoul, then you’ve got better chances than most. A Seoul cafe with the sole…

Each person chose from a selection of brightly colored skirts and tops, changed and then had their hair done. They had the option to carry a provided purse as well so the whole outfit could be in the style of traditional Korea. Crazy Multiply Art Collective: Malaise in Seoul
The Crazy Multiply Art Collective was at it again this past weekend with an intriguing show titled Malaise. While I had previously been a curator and worked with the ever impressive Amy Smith for Crazy Multiply, I had decided to take some time off as my schedule has been filled with lots of baby time. The babe wouldn’t stop me from supporting the lovely, now, foursome that has taken the reigns though. Current curators for the collective include Amy Smith, Unmaru, Kaleena Carter, and Miss Baik and boy did they put on a show. The Seoul Shakespeare Company: Titus Andronicus
For the next two weekends, The Seoul Shakespeare Company will be performing the play Titus Andronicus. Considered to be Shakespeare’s first play, Titus Andronicus weaves a tale of mystery and intrigue with love, horror, violence and racism. Those fans of Game of Thrones will find this play especially appealing. With the amount of gore and barbarity along with the different families seeking power and revenge plot after revenge plot, it’s Game of Thrones with a beginning, middle and and ending in 3 hours and 15 minutes. A Perfect Steak Set Date: Byeol Jin’s in Hongdae
Now that the baby is 6 months old we are making a concerted effort to get out and about and drag her along with us. Luckily, she’s an easy going little thing and just watches as the world goes alongside her stroller. My husband gets slightly flummoxed and feels bad for others when she decides to test her lungs and by that I mean, almost every time we are in a place with music playing, she likes to yell out. “It’s what babies do,” I say and considering she’s a musician’s daughter, what can he expect? But, he looks around to see how people in our vicinity are reacting. Other…

Crazy Multiply Shows Archaioposterii: The Ides
This month, the Crazy Multiply art collective tried something new. While the collective has shown short one night get-it-while-it’s-hot art with live music and craft beer up until now, this month they went all out for a week long show. Last month, Crazy Multiply showcased artists in a show entitled Archaioposterus and while the Yogiga space they’ve shown out of for some time offers a great atmosphere for the party type shows they’ve had, there just wasn’t quite enough space to show all of the wonderful art the artists had prepared so continuing the artsy fun and momentum from that show, Archaioposterii: The Ides was born. Jenny Robinson Hallie Bradley…

My Top Ten Adventures of 2014!
This year was full of new adventures for me and for my husband and not all of them included travel. I used to think traveling someplace new was all an adventure could be but, this year I learned that adventures can come in all shapes and sizes and experiences. 1. New Orleans, Louisiana: For our trip home this year we didn’t exactly go home. Instead of heading to my home state of Ohio, we headed to the Big Easy with my family to celebrate some big birthdays. We enjoyed the beautiful historic buildings and homes that lined the streets of the French Quarter and filled our bellies with the very filling…

Saying Goodbye to Summer with Blooming Cosmos
The winds have shifted and the cooler breezes have been blowing in to say autumn is here and winter is on its way. With autumn comes some amazingly colorful mountain views but also to delight, the cosmos bloom. It’s a flower that holds on until the end and seems to wave goodbye to summer and welcomes us in to autumn. It’s one of the last flowers to enjoy before the plants begin to wilt and turn brown winter ice and snow make their own beautiful scenes to view. The pinks and white of the blooms conjure up memories of the recent spring and summer fun we had frolicking outside with bare feet…

Seokguram Grotto: Seoul’s Version
Seokguram Hermitage (경주 석굴암) is one of those places that makes it onto every list of top 10 temples, Buddhist sites or wondrous views while in Korea. If you haven’t heard about it yet, head over to my friend Dale’s website and read more about it there. As I’ve read the name and heard it again and again, though haven’t yet been the site myself, I recognized it when I came across the name in Korean as I sat on the side of Mt. Inwang in Seoul. Seokguram… Seokguram (인왕산 석굴암), when I realized why I recognized the name it made me all the more confused as to why there…
