Mixsoon's Flagship Store In Myeongdong Is An Elegant Stop For K-Beauty

A few years back, Seongsu-dong became the buzz for pop-ups and Korean beauty flagship stores in Seoul, Korea. While it continues to be one of the coolest spots in the city, beauty brands catering to their foreign customers are turning their attention to Myeongdong‘s lasting appeal. SKIN1004 set up shop there, and now MIXSOON has joined the scene with their new flagship store (믹순 플래그십 스토어).

Who is MIXSOON?

MIXSOON is a minimalist Korean beauty brand that was founded in 2020. They want to eliminate unnecessary ingredients from the products we put on our skin and focus on the core ingredients. Their name comes from the combination of two parts “mix” as in collaboration and “soon” meaning pure ingredients. They are a vegan skincare company, using no animal ingredients nor animal testing.

MIXSOON’s extraction process for getting high quality ingredients is unique in that rather than using high temperatures like a lot of companies, they use low temperatures and a high-frequency method so that the useful ingredients in plants are not harmed and remain as effective as they can be.

Discover the Essence of MIXSOON on the First Floor

Right as you step inside, the first floor showcases a range of raw materials used in MIXSOON’s products. You’ll find ingredients like purslane, soybeans, soy milk, lotus, and red ginseng—ideal for all skin types, including sensitive and dry skin.

True to its vegan roots, the interior is pure and clean, drawing you in with its simplicity. And don’t miss the adorable mascot, Soondy! Snap a photo with her and receive a special gift up on the second floor.

Fun Fact: Soondy was created to raise awareness about protecting endangered polar bears. You’ll notice that some Mixsoon products have Soondy on the label. If you purchase any of these products, a portion of the proceeds are donated to the “Friends on Earth, Environmental Movement Alliance” which works to protect polar bears.

Fun Fact: You’ll notice a smiley face on some Mixsoon products as well. Mixsoon is actively involved in autism advocacy and officially sponsors the “Dream Blossom Academy”, an art program for autistic artists. Their mission is to empower autistic artists by providing opportunities to showcase their talents, build a foundation for economic independence, and gain recognition for their work. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of products with this logo are donated to this organization.

Explore and Personalize Your Experience on the Second Floor

On the second floor, there’s plenty to explore. Start with a personalized skin diagnosis—just place your face against the machine, and you’ll get instant results, explained in detail by the staff. You can even receive them via QR code, too.

Results cover everything from skin type, wrinkles, and pigmentation to elasticity, moisture, and sebum. It’s like an MBTI for your skin—fascinating, right? This will help you decide which products are right for you.

You’ll also find the entire product range here, from essences and toners to sun sticks, creams, and pads. It’s beautifully designed, making you want to try everything! There were products I’ve tried and loved like the Bean Cream, which is my FAVORITE, but plenty more I haven’t tried and am very interested in.

Learn More In The Beauty Class Zone

The basement level is home to the Beauty Class Zone. As you head down the stairs, you’ll catch a glimpse of the raw material extraction process—a must-see! The Beauty Class Zone operates by reservation, where MIXSOON staff personally introduce their products, listen to your skin concerns, and offer advice on basic makeup techniques.

I’ve been wanting to attend one of their classes for some time. If you ever have the opportunity to attend a class by any beauty brand, I highly recommend it. This was my first Mixsoon class and learned a lot about their brand, how to layer their products, and it’s great to get personalized information from the staff.

The class was very informative and because the seating is limited to 12, it’s intimate and allows everyone the opportunity to ask questions. We learned about layering the products and how to create that popular glass skin look.

Mixsoon quickly became one of my favorite brands. I think their bean line is amazing and great for dry and aging skin like mine. Don’t know much about Mixsoon? Be sure to stop into their flagship store in Myeongdong the next time you’re in the area!
