Mixsoon: The Bean Line Review You Need To Read

Lux! I am not exaggerating when I say the first time I tried the MIXSOON bean based products I was blown away. They just felt so lux and high-quality going on. I couldn’t get enough and I think you will want to try this Korean beauty brand‘s products too. MIXSOON’s motto is “Healthy skin starts with good ingredients” and they live by that and have some great products. The bean line has been my introduction to MIXSOON, but I will be trying more, that is for sure.

Who is MIXSOON?

MIXSOON is a minimalist Korean beauty brand that was founded in 2020. They want to eliminate unnecessary ingredients from the products we put on our skin and focus on the core ingredients. Their name comes from the combination of two parts “mix” as in collaboration and “soon” meaning pure ingredients. They are a vegan skincare company, using no animal ingredients nor animal testing.

MIXSOON’s extraction process for getting high quality ingredients is unique in that rather than using high temperatures like a lot of companies, they use low temperatures and a high-frequency method so that the useful ingredients in plants are not harmed and remain as effective as they can be.

MIXSOON Bean Essence Review

What is it? An exfoliating essence

This is a multitasking product that is an essence as well as an exfoliator that helps to bring dull skin back to life. The essence is meant to unclog pores and remove dead skin sells while providing intense hydration and nourishment for the skin.

When to use it: After cleansing the skin, apply the essence to the skin and gently rub in circular motions until dead skin cells come off. Wipe away the dead skin cells with toner and then moisturize with cream.

My Thoughts

My first reaction was to find the texture similar to the Cosrx’s snail essence which I tried many years back and loved. This similarly is “slimy” in all of the right ways. It also made me think of nattō. If you’ve ever eaten that Japanese soybean delicacy, you’ll know what I mean.

With nattō, as you pick up the beans with your chopsticks, there’s a stringy, sticky, slimy saucy substance that pulls away with it and this bean essence is similar, unsurprisingly. I don’t know if that makes you hungry or less interested, but I found it super appealing… as you can tell in the photo below. The essence maintains this sort of stringy slimy ability to connect unlike any other essence I’ve used.

MIXSOON Bean Essence Review

As someone with dry skin, I was really interested to see if it would stand up to the claim that it’s good for dry skin and I can say my skin was glowing. I really enjoyed using it at night the most and waking up to nourished hydrated skin. The essence is really easy to spread on the skin and isn’t sticky but glides and spreads comfortably.

The product is a bit unique in that exfoliates and moisturizes at the same time. Essences, in my experience, are usually more like serums but MIXSOON seems to be trying something new and I appreciated the effort. I tended to use it in the normal essence step of my routine but when I used it in the exfoliation stage, dead skin cells were easy to remove which I found impressive.

It really can multitask as an exfoliator and as a moisturizer which is really intriguing. Would absolutely purchase this. Multitasking products like stick balms are trending and there’s a reason. They just make the beauty routine one, or multiple, steps easier.

Where To Buy: You can buy the MIXSOON Bean Essence on YesStyle.com or on Amazon.com from the MIXSOON Storefront, or on the Mixsoon website.

MIXSOON Bean Stick Balm Review

What is it? A balm stick

Balm sticks have been trending over the past couple of years as people have pared down their beauty routines and aimed to simplify. The MIXSOON Bean Stick Balm is one of the balms that has been getting a lot of attention. It’s portable, easy to use, and effective.

The combination of Shea butter, coconut oil, soybean oil, and beeswax work together for hydration. The beeswax acts as a natural emollient to protect the barrier. The shea butter has vitamins A and E to nourish and hydrate while the soybean extract has antioxidants to protect the skin from radicals and promote collagen production.

MIXSOON Bean Stick Balm Review

When to use it: It can be applied multiple times a day. After applying to skin that needs extra hydration and nourishment, massage into the skin.

My Thoughts

My first experience with a stick balm was the very popular Kahi Multi Balm Stick which I loved. I loved Kahi’s other stick balms too and was not surprised to find I loved this one as well. Do I have lots of time to spend on a multistep skincare routine? Not often. Super convenient and easy to use without mess, it makes moisturizing the skin that much easier. The stick glides on so easily.

If you also tried the Kahi Multi Balm Stick, I found this one to a bit heavier and made my skin more dewy in contrast. As someone with dry skin, I noticed that it created a sort of barrier and took some time to really sink into or be absorbed into the skin. I liked the dewy look that it created until it was completely absorbed though. It was very refreshing and hydrating. The only thing to watch out with stick balms is that they’re so easy and dare I say, fun to use, that they run out faster than you want them to.

MIXSOON Bean Cream Review

What is it? Daily cream

Using fermented beans, pears, and pomegranate, this cream is meant to condition, protect, and nourish the skin so it is more resilient and radiant. The fermented soybeans provide intense hydration and stimulate collagen and protects against UV radiation. The fermented barley improves skin vitality and provides a vitamin boost. The fermented pomegranate extract contains natural AHA to soften dead skin cells creating a smoother texture and the fermented pear extract provides antioxidants, vitamin C, vitamin E, and flavonoids to protect and strengthen the skin barrier.

MIXSOON Bean Cream Review

When to use it: Apply after cleansing and applying toner

My Thoughts

I can’t say enough about how lux this feels. The texture is creamy but light. It’s not exactly sticky but has that nattō like consistency. A little bit goes a long way. Like really, you do not need a lot as it spreads easily across the skin. The cream was thick and similarly took a bit longer to be completely absorbed into the skin as the stick balm above but oh it was so pleasant on.

When applied at night, I noticed a refreshed hydrated face when I woke in the morning. While the essence has gone viral online, I think it’s this cream that really hit the right spot for my skin. My skin just felt more supple after use and looked so good.

MIXSOON Bean Cleansing Oil

What is it? Cleansing oil

Infused with fermented bean essences, this cleansing oil is packed with vitamins and proteins that nourish and moisturize the skin while the oil removes makeup and impurities. Cleansing oils combine with the oils of your skin and in the makeup making it easier to remove. If you haven’t given an oil cleanser a chance, this might be the one to give a try.

MIXSOON Bean Cleansing Oil

When to use it: Use 1-2 pumps on dry skin and then emulsify the product with water and gently massage the face with lukewarm water.

My Thoughts

I don’t tend to use cleansing oils that often but really should clearly because this one was a nice change. I think I just hadn’t had the right one before. My dry skin was so soft and supple after using this cleanser consistently. I think I should start using more oil cleansers in the winter when I’m especially dry and this would be the one I want to keep on my shelf.

MIXSOON Bean Cleansing Oil

Rather than stripping any barriers, I felt like this cleanser cleaned and created a barrier at the same time. It was actually so hydrating, I almost felt like after cleansing, I didn’t need to add much more to face.

MIXSOON Soybean Milk Pad

What is it? Essence-enriched pads

There are 3 sheets full of essence to moisturize and provide nutrition to the skin. There are three sheets in each pack that are full of essence to cool, moisturize, and provide nutrition. The essence-enriched pads have a low pH formula that is gentle on the skin and balances the skin. The pads are infused with ceramide NP, hyaluronic acid, and centella asiatica extract for moisture and to support the skin barrier.

MIXSOON Soybean Milk Pad

When to use it: After cleansing, gently wipe the entire face avoiding the eyes and mount and then place the pads on for 10 minutes and then when removing pat in the remaining essence.

My Thoughts

The whole line of products is so good, it’s not surprising that the milk pads are just as good and lux feeling. If you need just a bit more targeted hydration, then you might need to pick these up too. I don’t tend to give myself time to use sheet masks so they were a bit superfluous for me, but were full of essence and clung to the face well providing ample extra nutrition and hydration when I tried them.
