Four Reasons You Should Visit The Seoul Tourism Plaza
I remember the first time I walked into the Seoul Tourism Plaza in 2021. I was struck because it was such a cool culture spot. The Seoul Tourism Plaza (서울관광재단) is a tourism hub with a ton of information for tourists regarding the top Seoul tourism attractions but there’s also a souvenir shop and even a Tap Shop!
While there are tourist offices and booths all over the city for visitors to Seoul, the Seoul Tourism Plaza has some unique reasons to find it. From official Seoul City souvenirs so maps, guides, pamphlets, and more… here’s why you’ll want to find it.

Four Things To See At The Seoul Tourism Plaza
A Spiral Staircase and an Out Of This World… World
I was not expecting to find such cool architecture the first time I stepped inside this pretty run-of-the-mill building near Cheonggyecheon Stream. So surprised I was. The interior of the building has been opened up to showcase a cool spiral staircase and nearby are a number of artistic installations that you can enjoy and that’s even before you find all of the many touristy pamphlets and information.
Tourist Information Center Services
Walk inside and you’ll find staff behind a wall of super helpful guidebooks, maps, and pamphlets. Pick up any information you need for free and if you have further questions, there are on-site staff that can help you make reservations for performances like PAINTERS, transit like the Seoul City Bus Tours, accommodation, restaurants, and more. Just ask, and they’ll let you know how they can help you.
Even if you think you don’t need any assistance, I still recommend stopping in to see what information they have available. There are always new things happening in Seoul and the Seoul Tourism Organization creates great guides to so many districts individually, walking paths, hiking trails, and more. Just take a look and see what’s going on.
Official Seoul City Souvenirs
The city of Seoul creates some adorable, chic, and very fun souvenirs with the help of local creators and artists. I love stopping in to see what new creations they’ve come up with to promote Seoul. If you’re looking for the official Seoul city souvenirs and don’t know where to start, definitely take a gander and all the goods here.
Tap Shop Bar
An unexpected place to find in the Seoul Tourism Plaza building is the Tap Shop Bar. The bar’s standout feature is its ‘tap’ system, offering patrons the chance to immediately pour and taste a diverse range of wines. There are about 80 fresh ‘taps’ for an array of drinks, mostly wine but also including whiskey. There’s also a bottle shop with over 1,000 types of bottles, including traditional liquor and sake, all available without corkage fees. The affordability is a highlight.
The bar’s culinary offerings are equally impressive. The ‘Oyster Bar’ at Tap Shop Bar boasts 22 dishes, perfectly complemented by the wine selection. There are local flavors and more tapas style options. If you’re in the area in the evening, definitely check it out. It makes a great stop as you walk along the peaceful Cheonggyecheon Stream.
Anytime I visit a new city, I stop into the local tourist office because they have such a plethora of info and insights. There’s nothing better than going straight to the source for the best information available. With that in mind, these are four reasons that will make you want to stop at the Seoul Tourism Plaza in Seoul, Korea.
