Hidden in the basement, behind a large ominous door with a rock-like handle, this restaurant creates an experience from entrance to dessert. Chefs become actors creating dishes in the open kitchen and dishes unfold like scenes in a play, expertly introduced by waitstaff.
If you’re looking for an evening that blends artistry, atmosphere, and flavor, this is a stage worth stepping into. Definitely one of the best restaurants near Seoul Station, it’s the perfect spot for a memorable night out in Seoul.

First Impressions
You might think you’ve arrived at the wrong place when you step into what looks like an office building, but follow the escalator down and you’ll find a solid wall, featuring the name of the restaurant. Push open the oversized door with its rock-shaped handle and a sense of anticipation builds, like stepping backstage just before a performance begins.
Every detail, from lighting to layout, makes dining here feel special. This is the perfect spot for a special night out in Seoul, or a date night in Seoul.

The Concept
Confier isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a stage. Designed to be much like a theater, the open kitchen is the “Main Stage,” where the chefs perform in full view, and diners become the audience in the darkness unable to peel their eyes away from the show unfolding. It’s dark and yet bright, sexy and delicious, you’re part of a group of diners, but feel intimately separate.
The idea is to break the invisible barrier between kitchen and table so guests don’t just eat, they witness the creation of each dish. A massive mirror above the kitchen reflects the plating process, so no matter where you sit, you’re part of the drama. Each dish becomes an act, each course a new scene in the culinary play.



As each course is presented, the waiter explains how it is best enjoyed and changes the screen before you to present the food in deeper detail. I really enjoyed this. It allowed us to fully participate and understand how and why the food was presented and prepared the way it was and provides a deeper connection to Korean seasons and culture.




The Menu: Korean Ingredients, French Technique
Confier serves seasonal course menus that merge French cooking techniques with Korean flavors. Think: buttery French sauces paired with locally sourced vegetables, or premium Hanwoo beef plated with elegance. The plating really is stunning. You’ll want to take a picture of every course.
The menu changes with the seasons, so every visit feels like a fresh production.

Stand outs for me were:
- The First Appetizer: A foamy dish with cauliflower, tomato, celeriac, melon, and tofu that was light and airy but so harmonious.
- The Second Appetizer: A rich dish with clam, broccolini, and water dropwort, that I opted to top with caviar. It was salty, full of umami, and I could have lapped up that sauce if there was more.
- The Cleanser: What a surprise in a little glass. Pine needles, persimmon vinegar, and lemon really did awaken the senses so I was ready for so much more.
- The Semi-main: The harmony of flatfish, sweet pumpkin, sage, coriander seeds, parsley, and quinoa was my favorite dish of the evening. It was balanced perfectly between texture and taste. I wished there was more.
- The Desserts: First of all, it looked amazing. Created to look like a Korean tiled roof, the combination of strawberry, raspberry, milk, elderflower, hazelnut, pistachio, and olive oil, was delicate, delicious, and beautiful to the eye.




From the dramatic entrance to the mirrored ceiling above the open kitchen, every element is designed to immerse you in the artistry of food. The seasonal flavors are distinctly Korean, but the presentation and refinement echo French haute cuisine. It’s exciting to see what they come up with each season.
