Room Excape: An Escape Room In Seoul

Looking for something fun and maybe mentally-taxing for you and your friends while you’re in Seoul? Well, then trying out one of the many Seoul escape rooms in Hongdae is the way to go! We tried out Breakout Seoul recently and now it was time to try out Room Excape!

At the white point address of Room Excape, my group and I decided to become astronauts for a day by delving into the B-POLLO-17 escape room. If you like escape rooms but don’t speak Korean, fear not, there are options. Get a group of friends together and have fun in Seoul this weekend at an escape room. Which theme would you choose?

How To Get There

The address order is from easier to hardest locations when it comes to the rooms they feature. Keep that in mind if you’ve a novice when it comes to escape rooms.

Address: There are multiple branches with different themed rooms so make sure you know where you’ve booked your room for and don’t rock up to the wrong one.

Book in advance: The easiest way to play any of the four escape rooms is to reserve a time slot online. There is also an English speaker there who can assist you if you aren’t confident in your Korean once you have come to begin your escape room session.

Sinchon White Branch

B-Pollo: A hundred years after the 1969 moon mission, the B-POLLO moved between Mars and Earth. You are awoken from your hibernation to see a message: “An abnormality has occurred due to damage to the aircraft, system check is required.” You have to recover the system and safely land on Mars to complete the mission.

Mysterious Hobbit House: “Gather up, guys! The priest’s grandfather suddenly disappeared somewhere. The village has been full of abundance all this time thanks to the magic that only the grandfather knew, but no one knows how to use the priest’s grandfather’s magic house. So, what do we do now??”

Locked Exit of Mansion Lethe: Come to think of it, here it is. Her head hurts like it’s going to break. A familiar invitation card was held in his hand. “I will serve you with a dignity that cannot be thought of as something of this world.” A place I’ve never seen but not unfamiliar with. All I can remember is my name and my age. And… in my chest, an unknown feeling of sadness. I turn the handle, but the door is firmly locked. First, I need to find a way to get out of here.

Macau: The Puppet Guangxi: After Agent 6 disappears, you are ordered to make contact with Macau’s eldest son, Chairman Yoon . You visit Chairman Yoon at 12:30, the appointed time, but what was unexpectedly waiting for you was Chairman Yoon, who was shot and killed! It’s a trap! As if waiting, the Macau police arrive outside… You are mistaken for a current murderer at the scene and chased. The police tighten the siege to the casino VIP room, and you find Yoon’s secret space hidden in the wall for a moment, and just before the police find you, you sneak into it. “A place I’ve never seen but not unfamiliar with. Olive Branch

What to Expect

Out of the four options, B-POLLO17—Expansion into Space is on the normal side of things, which means it’s easier to complete than two of the other three. That does not mean it isn’t enjoyable, however. Being trapped inside a malfunctioning spaceship should spark more than just a few tears of joy for any sci-fi or space fan.

The interior design is really intricate and well made, with screens in every room that you can interact with to further the scenario along. (As any escape room enthusiast knows, I couldn’t take pictures to show you the interior so you’ll just have to take my word for it.)

That’s not all! You can also constantly see the time remaining on a monitor in each room to further remind you that the clock is ticking and the urge to blast yourself out of that airlock to be free of your intellectual shipmates looms ever-so close. You’ll have an hour total to figure out how to set the ship back on track and land on the magnificent citrus-colored wasteland that is Mars.

We found this escape room experience really enjoyable and will definitely be back to try the other rooms available.
