We Asked, Kahi Answered: The New Multibalm Refill Kit

Kahi, a popular Korean skincare brand is back to meet the demand of their consumers with the Kahi Multi Balm Stick Refill Kit! Kahi has been making waves and showing up in major Korean dramas and even making it into American movie scenes including Hocus Pocus 2 and found supporters in people like Lil Nas X, Doja Cat, and Ava Max since they released their super popular Kahi Multibalm stick.

Leading the trend of multibalm sticks that were once just for sun creams or quick make-up applications, after Kahi’s Wrinkle Bounce Moisturizing Multi Balm Stick hit the market, companies left and right started releasing their own balms in stick form to meet the demand of the market more interested in simplified skincare routines.

While the reviews for Kahi’s Wrinkle Bounce Moisturizing Multi Balm Stick were overwhelmingly positive, there was some feedback from users worldwide saying they wished the effective product would last longer. Kahi heard the reviews and seeking to listen to their customers, they’ve now released the refillable multibalm stick applicator kit. Don’t you love when a company takes our feedback seriously?

Who is Kahi?

Introduced in 2020, Kahi is a now very popular Korean skincare company. The name, Kahi, is a combination of the first and last letters in the Hangul alphabet. Their philosophy is “beauty with skincare” and they hope to revitalize the natural power of the skin through their products. They look for solutions in the simplest ways. A no fuss, no muss sort of attitude when it comes to creating skincare products that will make life and our skincare routines simpler.

The multibalm stick trend that shifted balm sticks from just sun creams and make-up applicators can be credited back to Kahi. If you want to learn more about Kahi and their other products, I did a lengthy review of some of the other Kahi balms, essences, and more

Wait… I think I’ve seen Kahi before

I’m sure you have. Kahi has taken their product placement in everything from Korean dramas to American cinema and music videos very seriously. In an effort to make this Korean skincare brand known worldwide by people of all ages, they’ve been featured and seen in some rather arbitrary spots in a multitude of places including:

  • The King: Eternal Monarch: A Korean drama where actor Kim Go-Eun is shown using the multibalm stick.
  • Yumi’s Cells: Again Kim Go-Eun was shown using this popular multibalm stick. She even gained the moniker “Kim Go-Eun Multibalm” because of the multi-use.
  • Lil Nas X’s “The Montero Show”: Surprising many worldwide, even Lil Nas X featured the stick that was then seen more than 3 million times.
  • Ava Max’s “Maybe You’re the Problem”: Another seemingly random spot that gained attention because of the peculiarity, Ava Max was spotted applying Kahi in her music video.
  • Doja Cat’s “Vegas”: You can even spot the Kahi multibalm stick in this video sitting on a coffee table.
  • Extraordinary Attorney Woo: A more serious drama, even Kahi was spotted there and by this time, viewers were finding the different product placements of Kahi a bit humorous.
  • Hocus Pocus 2: I was watching this one with my daughter during Halloween and was surprised to see Kahi sitting prominently at a make-up table while the witches shopped.
  • Meghan Trainor’s “Made You Look”: Even Meghan Trainor can be seen applying the multibalm stick in her music video.
  • Charlie Puth’s “Lipstick”: Lipstick or multibalm stick? Watch the video to see where it’s applied.

While some of these spots may seem really random, it gets people talking and that’s what the marketing team of Kahi is looking for. They want to see what the reaction is in different places and watch as people talk so they can jump on the interest here, there, and everywhere. Where will we see it next? And will they start showing off the Kahi Multi Balm Stick Refill Kit?

Kahi Wrinkle Bounce Multi Balm Refill Kit Review

What It Is: Balm + refill stick

Kahi’s most popular product by far, past fans and users will be happy to know that the formula has seen no changes. Made with salmon collagen and fermented oil from Jeju as well as a variety of plant extracts and antioxidants, the balm promises to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles and you can use it everywhere from your face to your neck and any other place you’re worried about. You can use it all over, or you can use it in targeted trouble areas.

The product is meant to stimulate collagen production and restore elasticity in the skin. Kahi uses a patented Filmexel technology to produce a seaweed biofilm that protects the skin from harmful external factors and the balm creates a moisture barrier for long lasting hydration.

Kahi has sold 17 million of just this stick alone worldwide and as mentioned in the introduction, the major feedback is that it went too fast and people wanted more!

What’s the new Kahi Wrinkle Bounce Multi Balm Stick Refill Kit?

Now you know that the formula has been unchanged, so what is the refill kit. The packaging has seen a major upgrade. The applicator packaging itself is now metal instead of plastic and there’s an easy-to-install refill stick too. It makes sense that they would upgrade the exterior packaging a bit more as it wouldn’t be for one use any longer, but more elongated usage so having something that is stronger and more durable is a welcome sight… not to mention beautiful. My daughter commented on how she liked that it was shinier. I agreed.

How to refill the Kahi multibalm stick: I really like how they’ve created this refillable applicator. It seems to be a magnet situation so it’s easy enough to twist out and attach a new one, but it’s not so easy that it would just fall out on its own. It’s a great design in my opinion and easy to use.

My original review still stands the test of time

The balm comes in an easy to twist-up stick format for mess-free application and easy to carry storage, now with the added bonus of being refillable as mentioned above. The balm goes on easily and has a moist finish. It’s not exactly sticky or tacky, but you can feel it.

Being in the stick form makes it very easy to put on. It does have an aroma that I found pleasing personally. It’s not too strong if aromas bother you, but there is a slight one. I generally found this easiest to apply in my nighttime routine. With dry skin myself, I found this to be very hydrating when left on overnight.

As a person with little time for skincare routines, this did decrease my steps but amp up the hydration so I didn’t feel like I needed much else. My skin was plump, supple, and very hydrated each morning after wearing throughout the night. I was really amazed by the results honestly.

The first time I reviewed this was during the summer but I honestly found it even more useful during the winter when my skin was needing more hydration. I’ve kept a Kahi stick in my bag since using that first time.

What’s coming next!

It’s all about the caviar. KAHI’s top priority is to improve the look of wrinkles and fine lines and they look for the most effective ingredients to do that which is how they landed on salmon for their signature products. Continuing down a path of innovation, they looked into caviar and have created a caviar-infused balm that utilizes “Almas Beluga Caviar”.

If you’ve been following KAHI, you may have seen inklings of caviar as they’ve been hosting cooking classes centered on their premium caviar to celebrate the release of their new caviar balm. Look out for their new product soon!
