What To Do Near Incheon International Airport: Beaches, Parks, Cafes & Flowers
Last Updated on April 12, 2026
Incheon International Airport sits on Yeongjong Island (영종도), and most people arriving or leaving Korea drive straight from the terminal to the mainland without looking around. That’s understandable, Seoul is an hour away and the island doesn’t advertise itself. But there’s quite a bit here, and the crowds that swarm everything else in Incheon haven’t found most of it yet.
We’ve come out to the island several times over the years to see what’s worth finding. From rooftop cafes with sunset views over the beach to a coastal park four times larger than Songdo Central Park, a rocky beach with a centuries-old love story, and a flower field where planes fly directly overhead on approach, here’s what to do on the island before or after your flight.
For the full picture of what to explore across Incheon beyond the airport area, read the complete Incheon guide.

Here are things to do out on the island around Incheon International Airport. From places that make for the perfect staycation or spots to stay before you head out, to parks, beaches and cafes, here are the spots I recommend visiting!

WhereTo Stay Near Incheon International Airport

Paradise City
Paradise City is the most ambitious hotel and resort near the airport, an entire complex built around a 3,000-piece curated art collection, with an indoor carnival, a couples-only hotel wing, year-round pools, a spa, and a nightclub with architecture by the firm MVRDV.
You don’t need to book a room to visit much of it, but the pools and select facilities require either a guest stay or a day pass. If you’re spending a night near the airport and want somewhere memorable, this is it. For the full guide to what’s inside, read the complete Paradise City Resort guide.
- Book a stay here on Booking.com or on Agoda.com

Nest Hotel
This was our first staycation choice on the island, and still one we’d return to. The architecture is moody and considered, a modernist building that looks quite deliberate sitting on the coastline. The interior is chic and calm, with a restaurant overlooking the water, a kid zone, and enough adult-only spaces that guests without children don’t feel they’ve stumbled into a family resort. All about rest, restoration, and a well-designed room. For the full guide, read the complete Nest Hotel guide.

Hotel Ora
Our budget-friendly option for a night when the plan was to spend more time outside than in the hotel. The exterior is striking, you won’t miss it near the airport. Rooms are more spacious than the price suggests, with a full shower and bathtub. Cafe on the first floor. Hospitable staff. Good value for one night with coastal plans in mind.

Some Island Background
The island used to be called Jayeondo because of the swallows that nested here. Bakeunsan Mountain sits at the center, and all roads circle around it, which means you can’t really get lost, which is a bonus when you’re jet-lagged and navigating from an airport. The government has been actively building up the island to attract visitors, so the roads are good but some stretches are pretty quiet still, not much traffic once you leave the airport highway.
This is not the only island accessible from here. From Sammok Ferry Terminal on the north side of Yeongjong Island, ferries run to Sindo, Sido, and Modo Islands in under 10 minutes. Muuido Island is also reachable from here. For a full breakdown of Incheon’s islands, read the Incheon island hopping guide.

Terrace In Seaside (바다앞테라스)
This is a beautiful rooftop cafe with indoor and outdoor seating and the views out over the nearby coastal waters. Choose from beanbag chairs and regular seats and get some islandy vibes from the aesthetics. It’s a beautiful space with great croissants and coffee. Definitely worth checking out and you can easily visit the Seaside Park area from here just be walking less than a block.

- Hours: Every day: 9:00am ~ 10:00pm

Now, Here (지금이곳)
This modern cafe is a newer one on the island that is definitely going to be getting more and more popular. It’s an interest and rather large space with a lot of modern and industrial vibes. The rooftop provides views of the rice paddies surrounding the cafe. It’s a really beautiful space with lots of different options for any way you want to eat. Grab a milk tea and get a dessert.
- Address: 40 Unnam-ro 82 Beon-gil, Jung-gu, Incheon (인천 중구 운남로82번길 40)
- Hours: Every day: 10:00am ~ 9:00pm

Thanks To Tea (차덕분)
Though the space and building are new, the cafe has been designed with a more traditional and historic vibes with floor seating near the windows so you can look out over the seaside water as you sip tea. Take advantage of the thoughtful tea list and traditional Korean snacks if you’re in the area. There is a lot of space in this tea house however not much seating so you may have to wait if it’s popular when you visit.

Cafe Geon(카페건)
I was sold on this cafe from a single photograph taken while it was still being built, the wooden archways looked like something from an old European building transplanted to a Korean island, and the reality matched the expectation. Set inside Seaside Park on the second floor of a building that looks directly out over the water. Indoor seating under those archways, plus a veranda. The scones and chocolate croissants were just right.
- Address: 1967-1 Jungsan-dong Jung-gu, Incheon (인천 중구 중산동 1967-1)

From the stop, walk straight in the direction the bus was headed and go toward the seaside. You’ll see the cafe and rail bike area near each other.
- Hours: Every day 10:00am ~ 9:00pm

Caffe Ora (카페오라)
This is a different place from Hotel Ora, worth saying clearly because the name causes confusion. Driving up to Caffe Ora you might mistake the modern building for a villain’s headquarters. Enter and all that changes: floor-to-ceiling windows and a balcony with the best seats on the island for sunset viewing over Eulwangni and Wangsan Beaches. Arrive a little before sunset, order your drink, find the table you want, and settle in.
- Address: 773-61 Eulwang-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon (을왕동 773-61)
- How To Get There: From Incheon International Airport, Terminal 1, On the third floor, find the stop for bus 111. Take and get off at Incheon Beach Hotel stop. From the stop, walk straight in the direction that the bus was headed and just look up. You’ll see Cafe Ora on a hill about 346 meters down.
- Hours: Monday – Friday: 11:00am ~ 11:00pm; Saturday & Sunday: 10:00am ~ 11:00pm

Cafe Dou Dou (카페도우도우)
A multi-floor cafe with a different aesthetic on each level, some floors with beanbag chairs for relaxing, others with standard tables if you’re eating. Mini outdoor cabanas. A good brunch option when you want something casual with enough variety to explore while you’re there.
- Address: 4 Seonnyeo Rock Beach-ro Jung-gu, Incheon (인천 중구 선녀바위로 4)
- How To Get There: From Incheon International Airport, Terminal 1, On the third floor, find the stop for bus 111. Take the bus 14 stops, about 20 minutes, and get off at Seonnyeo Rock Beach stop. Cross the street toward the seaside, and go left after crossing. Walk to the second street and turn right. You’ll be able to see the tall building from the bus stop when you get off.
- Hours: Monday – Friday: 11:00am ~ 11:00pm; Saturday & Sunday: 10:00am ~ 11:00pm

Seaside Park (씨사이드파크)
Opened in 2017, Yeongjong Seaside Park is four times larger than Songdo Central Park and significantly less crowded. Cafe Geon sits inside the park. The Seaside Rail Bike is here, a 5.6km round-trip route along the coast in two-, three-, or four-person bikes.
Behind Cafe Geon there’s a playground that converts into a water park in summer, with fountains, water slides, and a shallow pool, a good option for families where ages vary and not everyone wants to be on a bike.

- How To Get There: From Incheon International Airport, Terminal 1, On the third floor, find the stop for bus 202. Take the bus 12 stops, about 20 minutes, and get off at Dongbo Nobility stop. Seaside Spots
The west coast may not feature white sand and emerald blue waters but the seaside is always calming to me. As the water laps on the shore, sometimes it doesn’t matter what the beach is like as long as everything else is just right. Here are some of the seaside spots on the island you could check out.
Eulwangni Beach (을왕리해수욕장)
The most popular beach on the island. Sand, restaurants, camping, changing rooms, shower booths, and restrooms, the facilities are here. The west coast tidal rhythm applies: go in the morning when the tide is in for swimming, and expect mudflats by afternoon. The tide on Korea’s west coast goes out substantially, that isn’t an exaggeration.
- Address: 746-1 Eulwang-dong Jung-gu, Incheon (인천광역시 중구 을왕동 746-1)
- How To Get There: From Incheon International Airport, Terminal 1, On the third floor, find the stop for bus 111. Take the bus 15 stops, about 20 minutes, and get off at Eulwangni Beach stop. Cross the street toward the seaside and follow the signs to the beach.

Wangsan Beach (왕산해수욕장)
Just north of Eulwangni, broader and quieter. A more fishing-village atmosphere and fewer facilities, restrooms and local umbrella rentals, but not the built-up amenities of Eulwangni. Worth it for anyone who finds Eulwangni too busy.
- Address: 810-188 Eulwang-dong Jung-gu, Incheon (인천광역시 중구 을왕동 810-188)
- How To Get There: From Incheon International Airport, Terminal 1, On the third floor, find the stop for bus 111. Take the bus 21 stops, about 20 minutes, and get off at Wangsan Beach stop. Cross the street toward the seaside and follow the signs toward the beach.

Seonnyeo Rock Beach (선녀바위해수욕장)
My favorite coastline on the island, and the one I’d come back for. Where Eulwangni and Wangsan are sandy beaches with the usual west coast tidal mudflats, Seonnyeo is rocky with tide pools, creatures, shells, sea glass, and flat rocks wide enough to sit on and watch the water. Wear shoes with grip.
The beach takes its name from a story. When naval forces manned a defense station at Yeongjongjin, the commander kept a beautiful mistress. When his affection for her faded and he began withdrawing, she had nothing left to live for and threw herself from a prominent rock called Taepyeongam into the sea. Her body drifted to nearby Yongyudo Island. When the commander learned what had happened, he retrieved her and prepared her for burial. Locals began calling the rock Seonnyeo, fairy, and the nearby hill Hogunje, the commander’s hill. The rock is not labeled: locals prefer it that way, so finding it is part of the visit.
- Address: 678-129 Eulwang-dong Jung-gu, Incheon (인천광역시 중구 을왕동 678-129)
- How To Get There: From Incheon International Airport, Terminal 1, On the third floor, find the stop for bus 111. Take the bus 14 stops, about 20 minutes, and get off at Seonnyeo Rock Beach stop. Cross the street toward the seaside and and walk straight to the beach.

Sky Garden (하늘정원)
Canola flowers in spring, cosmos in autumn, and year-round plane spotting, flights on approach to Incheon Airport fly directly overhead at very low altitude. This is one of the few places where you can stand in a flower field with a commercial aircraft filling the frame above you. The parking situation is awkward and the garden isn’t prominently signposted, but it rewards the effort. Search “Sky Garden Incheon Airport” (하늘정원 인천공항) on Naver Maps for the current directions, the exact entrance point shifts.
FAQ
What can I do near Incheon Airport on a layover?
For a 3 to 4-hour layover: Seaside Park and Cafe Geon is the most practical combination at just 20 minutes from Terminal 1 by bus, with the rail bike, ocean views, and good coffee all in one area. If the timing works, Caffe Ora for sunset is another strong option with the same transit time.
For a 6 to 8-hour layover: Add a beach stop. Eulwangni Beach and Seonnyeo Rock Beach are both reachable on the same bus route as Caffe Ora. Combine a beach visit in the morning (when the tide is in) with a cafe stop in the afternoon.
For a 24-hour layover: Stay overnight at Paradise City Resort or Nest Hotel. This opens up the pool at Paradise City, the Seaside Rail Bike at full pace, and the island’s restaurant options without the time pressure of catching a bus back.
Can I leave the airport during a layover in Incheon?
Yes. Korea does not require transit visas for most nationalities, and Incheon Airport is designed for easy exit and re-entry. Confirm visa requirements for your specific nationality before leaving the terminal. Your boarding pass and passport are required to re-enter the security area.
How do I get from Terminal 2 to the beaches?
The buses in this guide depart from Terminal 1. If you arrive at Terminal 2, take the free shuttle bus to Terminal 1 first (approximately 15 minutes), then board Bus 111 or 202 from Terminal 1’s third floor. Alternatively, a taxi directly from Terminal 2 to the beach area takes approximately 25 to 30 minutes.
Is there a beach within walking distance of Incheon Airport?
No, the nearest beaches are approximately 20 minutes by bus. The airport is at the inland center of the island and the beaches are on the western coastal edge. The bus connections are straightforward but a short journey is required regardless.
What is the best time of year to visit Yeongjong Island?
Spring for the canola flowers at Sky Garden (March to April). Summer for beach swimming, go in the morning before the tide goes out on the west coast. Autumn for the cosmos flowers and clear air. The island is accessible year-round and the cafes and parks operate through all seasons, though some beach facilities reduce hours or close in winter.
The island around Incheon Airport is one of those places that rewards curiosity more than planning. Most of what’s good here is not on any official tourism list, it’s the rocky beach with the love story behind its name, the cafe in the former evil lair overlooking the sunset, the flower field where you can photograph a plane directly overhead. Give it an afternoon and see what you can see.

I had no idea there were all these cool things to do near the Seoul airport. I always assume airport regions are purposly more vacant. But whoa good to know for my next trip to Seoul! Especially the beach 🙂 Ouuu!
