I Got a Personal Color Analysis in Korea—Here’s Why You Should Too
Last Updated on July 15, 2025
Personal color analysis has become one of those experiences in Korea that tourists young and old look to add to their itinerary, and it’s easy to see why. The global rise of K-beauty has transformed skincare routines, but beneath the surface of flawless complexions and dewy finishes lies a deeper philosophy: beauty that feels personal and intentional. As more beauty lovers look to Korea for guidance, this tailored approach to color has become a natural extension of the K-beauty wave.
Who wants to walk through life being washed out by their wardrobe? One size does not fit all, and one hue is not for everyone. Science meets style and the next thing you know, looking good is as easy 1, 2, 3. Personal color analysis isn’t just a trend; it’s becoming a K-beauty essential helping people glow naturally… once they know their color palette.

Personal color analysis is a unique experience to have in Korea that will change the way you shop:

What is Personal Color Analysis?
Personal color analysis is all about discovering the hues that complement your natural tones, your skin, hair, eyes, and even the undertones of your lips. Using the Four Seasons Color System (spring, summer, autumn, winter), experts match you with a palette that enhances your natural features, bringing vibrancy to your look and simplifying everything from choosing the right makeup to shopping for clothes.
Rather than following generic trends, personal color analysis is your fast track to a signature look that feels effortless and uniquely you. When holding the colors up one after another, I was shocked how some really did make me glow and some completely drained my skin of all color. This will make shopping that much easier.

Why ImageHO Stands Out
While there are plenty of places in Korea offering color analysis, ImageHO has built a reputation for being especially foreigner-friendly. All sessions come with workbooks and visual tools, so you’ll leave with more than just a diagnosis, you’ll have clear guidance you can apply right away.
Bonus: They even give you recommendations for what products to buy at Olive Young and what accessories will look best on you for when you’re going out shopping in Seoul.
They even invite you to bring your own makeup pouch, so their consultants can go through your current products and tell you what’s working and what’s not. You will be surprised how many are not working.

The Four Seasons: Which One Are You?
Here’s a quick breakdown of the four seasonal palettes and their key traits:
- Spring: Fresh, warm, and youthful. Think peaches, bright corals, and sunshine yellow. These colors bring energy and glow to those with golden undertones.
- Summer: Soft, cool, and breezy. Imagine pastel blues, powder pinks, and lavender. These muted shades flatter cooler complexions with subtle contrast.
- Autumn: Rich, warm, and sophisticated. Deep olive, mustard, burnt orange, and gold suit those with earthier, golden undertones.
- Winter: Bold, cool, and dramatic. High-contrast palettes like icy blues, emerald green, and classic black and white pop against sharp, cool-toned features.

Even if you’ve tried guessing your season based on online charts, seeing the difference in person under expert guidance can be eye opening. I had already tried using an AI machine in Myeongdong, but with an actual person, it was a completely different experience. Much deeper.
The consultants use a white cape and natural lighting to neutralize external influences, then walk you through the process slowly, letting your eyes adjust as they compare color swatches.

You may have seen the online viral videos of consultants being really direct and blunt about what colors look good and which don’t, yes Koreans can be pretty blunt with their information, but I didn’t find any of the comments to be rude. At ImageHO, they are really friendly and just looking to make sure you, as the client, are comfortable and happy and will take away great information that you can utilize.

What Makes It So Transformational
Aside from discovering your ideal shades, many people find that personal color analysis leads to better shopping decisions, more cohesive wardrobes, and even a boost in self-confidence. It’s not just about looking better, it’s about feeling like the best version of yourself.
My consultant definitely confirmed some of the things I thought and why I’m drawn to certain colors.

In Korea, where aesthetics play a big role in self-expression, having this kind of guidance can help you confidently navigate the world of beauty and fashion, from picking your K-beauty lip tint to choosing Hanbok for photos.

After you’ve gone through the color swatches, finding what makes you glow and what doesn’t, then the consultant helps you fill in the information in the booklet so you can take it home and you understand what it all meant.

To make it even better, ImageHO’s program goes further to show current palettes and make-up available at OliveYoung so you know what to buy when you’re shopping.
Do I think Personal Color Analysis is worth it? I really do. I got so much out of the experience and confirmed a lot about what colors I’m drawn to and why. Do I think you’ll enjoy the experience too? I sure do. Even my daughter wants to go now. If you want to add a unique experience to your Korean itinerary, this is a good one!

Hi Ayesha, what website were you using? Maybe it’s blocked there? There are a few booking platforms I recommend for Korea: Creatrip and Klook if possible.
