Boutijour Lotus Leaf Anti-Pollution Repairing Toner & Snow Lotus Lifting Serum Review
Last Updated on September 23, 2025
You might not think of lotus leaves when you reach for skincare, but in Korea, they’ve long been a symbol of resilience, purity, and renewal. Boutijour takes that tradition and bottles it into modern, mindful formulas designed for today’s busy, urban lifestyles.
If you’re looking for skincare that feels indulgent yet practical, and offers protection against city living, these two products deserve a closer look: the Lotus Leaf Anti-Pollution Repairing Toner and the Snow Lotus Lifting Serum. I got to learn about Boutijour at their shop in Seoul and now after a full year using their toner and serum, I’m in love. It was love at first sight, but now I know it’s really good.

About Boutijour
BOUTIJOUR is a well-aging skincare brand rooted in Korean heritage, dedicated to helping people embrace the beauty of aging gracefully. Founded in 2017 by Jillian Jiyeon Yoo, the brand was born out of a simple but powerful idea: aging isn’t something to fight against, but to celebrate.
Inspired by the purification and resilience of the Lotus Flower, BOUTIJOUR crafts high-performance, cruelty-free formulas that nourish and protect. It’s skincare that goes beyond hydration, it’s about building daily rituals of self-care that bring a little more balance, calm, and vitality into life.

Why Lotus Leaf Matters in Skincare
When I first visited the Boutijour shop in Seoul, not only was I greeted with a beautiful minimal design, but the staff was quick to start explaining why Boutijour has focused on lotus leaf and I was in to it.

Lotus might be a flower you admire in a temple pond, but its leaves and petals have been treasured in Korean traditions for centuries. They aren’t just pretty, they’re powerful, offering:
- Natural detoxification: Rich in flavonoids and polyphenols that help to neutralize free radicals and environmental toxins. It’s especially effective for city dwellers exposed to pollution, fine dust, and UV stress.
- Deep hydration: Lotus leaf is known for being able to lock in moisture without heaviness. It helps to regulate excess oil while replenishing hydration in drier areas, making it suitable for combination and sensitive skin types.
- Soothing properties: Lotus leaf calms redness, irritation, and flare-ups caused by external stressors. This makes it a go-to ingredient for people struggling with urban skin fatigue or post-acne sensitivity.
- Well-aging support: Lotus leaf fight premature aging, helping to maintain elasticity and brightness. Over time, it supports firmer, clearer, and more radiant skin.
Lotus Leaf Anti-Pollution Repairing Toner Review

What It Does
Enriched with Jeju Lotus Leaf Extract, this toner is designed to shield your skin from environmental aggressors while replenishing hydration. Think of it as your first layer of city defense. It blocks fine dust, an issue we have here in Seoul, soothes irritation, and helps repair skin exposed to pollution, leaving it soft and refreshed. Lotus leaves shield and repel pollutants and help to detoxify at the same time.

My Thoughts
This is not your typical watery toner. It’s slightly viscous, more essence-like in texture and feels much more substantial. There is a subtle woody scent that feels calming. I preferred to use it with my hands over a cotton pad. After cleansing, it sinks in quickly but still leaves behind a hydrated, cushiony finish.
I usually used it in the evening before bed and would wake with lovely hydrated skin that was plump but calm. I’ve used it in both Seoul and while living in Jeju where we are outside getting more sun and it really does seem to calm my skin from the redness. Beautifully lux feeling.

Snow Lotus Lifting Serum Review

What It Does
This is a lightweight yet powerful serum that uses Snow Lotus, a rare botanical that is known for revitalizing energy, paired with peptides that firm, smooth, and hydrate. It promises a subtle “botox-like” effect without heaviness, giving skin a youthful bounce and radiant glow.

My Thoughts
The serum comes in a luxurious frosted glass bottle with a dropper. It’s simple but chic. The texture is thicker than water, much like the toner was thicker and more essence like, this serum is thick, but still absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave a tacky sticky feeling behind. There’s a subtle lotus scent that feels refreshing rather than overpowering.
Right after applying, my skin feels more hydrated and luminous. It worked well as both a morning and evening serum, hydrating and smoothing fine lines. A definite keeper in my routine.
