Troiareuke: A Review Of The Prescription Skincare Brand

Troiareuke takes its name from the ancient Greek word “foundation” or “beginning”. Their company offers holistic options like chroma therapy, aromatherapy, and herb therapy for skin concerns such as aging, blemishes, dryness and sensitivity. This is a cruelty-free Korean beauty brand that manufactures all of its products in Korea.

The brand actually started as and still is a spa brand that caters to clients with acne and skin problems. Their clients were so happy with treatments at the spa and asked for products to take home so the brand expanded and produced prescription skincare cosmetics for home use. Whether your skin has been affected by environmental factors, emotions, or your lifestyle, Troiareuke might just be what you need for a clear complexion. There are over 5,000 beauty spas that use Troiareuke products and if professionals and aestheticians are using it, you know it has to be good.

Troiareuke, Korean Beauty, KBeauty, Cruelty Free

Troiareuke is a natural cosmetics brand which uses safe and natural ingredients like phytochemical and nature plant extracts. They also use light in the form of color to balance the “energy” that is lacking in your body.

Most of the products in this review are from the Troiareuke Acsen line of products which are made for people with acne and sensitive skin. Whether or not you have either though, you should still look into the products. I don’t tend to have acne issues, but love this line of products.

Here are the Troiareuke product reviews you’ll find in this post:

Troiareuke Acsen Oil Cut Cleansing Review

What It Is: Cleanser

The Oil Cut Cleanser uses the power of usnea extract from lemon, grape, apple, and sugar cane to remove dead skin and then papaya that is rich in vitamin C and carotinoid to help skin elasticity and moisturize. There is also portulaca oleracea extract for a calming and moisturizing effect that protects against microbes and toxins.

The cleanser uses a micro-emulsion technique that means there are less oil ingredients which gives the skin less stress during cleansing. Most skin care cleansers require surfactant agents that mix oil and water during formulation but these products can make skin more sensitive and dry.

Troiareuke Acsen Oil Cut Cleansing

When To Use: Morning or evening to cleanse the face. I tend to use it in the evenings because it does so well getting make-up off.

My Thoughts: Ever since I got my first bottle of this at the Seoul Blogger Brunch, I basically haven’t wanted to use any other cleanser. I don’t like anything that requires me to do too many steps and am not interested in cleansing products like balms that require me to wash again… after I’ve washed so I LOVED this. The cleanser has a runny gel consistency and spreads over the face easily. It’s not foamy or bubbly and uses a micro-emulsion technique to remove oil and dirt and it removes everything easily in one go. And seriously, I mean everything. No mascara left behind.

For days when I have light make-up, it’s great and days when I’ve got full coverage for events, it takes everything including mascara off easily. If you don’t like oil cleansers, try this. It only takes about a quarter size amount in the hand and it gets EVERYTHING off and my skin still feels great after, not dried out, but clean. This is definitely a stand out product in the Troiareuke line for me and since that first event, I’ve used it consistently for two years. Since I normally have dry skin, I’ve really appreciated that this has no drying effects after.

Troiareuke Acsen TOC Toner Review

What It Is: Toner

TOC stands for Turn Over Cycle. It takes an average of 28 to 40 days for cell turnover. As we age, younger cells take longer to replace older ones and can take 45 to 90 days. The TOC Toner is meant to help improve turnover and restore functions of a healthy water-lipid balance.

This toner contains centella asiatica like the other products in the Acsen line which helps calm skin. It also has chia seed extract which has high antioxidant content to fight free radicals and helps strengthen the skin barrier. Finally, it has glycolic acid to get rid of dead skin cells and stimulate cellular turnover cycle and help produce collagen.

Troiareuke Acsen TOC Toner

When To Use: After cleansing.

My Thoughts: I LOVE this toner. When I first started trying toners I remember finding them so drying on my skin and I considered not using toners all together because of this. After using this, I remember thinking, I think I’ve just been using the WRONG toners because this wasn’t drying at all. The toner has a watery consistency and a subtle scent that fades pretty quickly as it’s absorbed quickly. I find it makes my skin feel much more hydrated and balancing so I have a smoother supple complexion after using.

Troiareuke Acsen UV Protector Essence Review

What It Is: Sun Cream

This sun cream helps prevent UV burn and reflect UV rays and has SPF50+ and PA+++. This sun cream features a high concentration of centella asiatica extract as do the other products in the Acsen line and moisturizes while providing protection. The sun protecting ingredients include homosalate, bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine, titanium dioxide, and ethylhexyl triazone.

When To Use: Use in the morning after cleansing and putting on toner and other ampoules.

My Thoughts: I really liked this UV Protector Essence. It absorbed quickly into the skin without rubbing too much and wasn’t sticky or greasy so putting make-up on top was easy. This essence sunscreen has a thin, watery texture. The light texture is really appealing and there was no white-cast after using and I appreciated that it’s not thick like sunblocks but has great coverage. The sunscreen is actually quite hydrating unlike many I’ve tried. This was my go-to sun cream last summer and I’m getting ready to use it again this summer. When writing this post, I realized I used up the entire bottle so don’t have pics at the moment, but I’ll update as soon as I get my new one for THIS summer.

Troiareuke GPS Mask Pack Review

What It Is: Sheet Mask

The GPS Mask is a three step mask with everything included. The first step is the Skin Shielder Cel-Cleanser which removes dirt and oil. The second step is the mask itself and the third step is the Cell Energy Cream for a final nourishing step. The key ingredients in this mask include niacinamide, better known as vitamin B3, which work to reduce pore size, help uneven skin tones and signs of aging.

Another ingredient is squalane which helps to moisturize the skin and helps with anti-aging and UV protection. And there is tea tree leaf oil, witch hazel extract, grapefruit extract, and lavender oil for antioxidants, hydration, and acne fighting effects.

Troiareuke GPS Mask Review

When To Use: Since it’s a three-in-one, it includes the cleanser, you should use a toner after the cleanser, and then use the mask that’s included and then the cream afterward. It’s great for travel since it comes with three steps already prepped for you. Anyone else mask on airplanes?

My Thoughts: When I first got this mask, the name immediately gave me visions of travel and use and it definitely takes airplane sheetmasking to another level. The cleanser is a foam cleanser, which was a pleasant surprise the first time I used it. The gel cleanser foamed up after I put it on my face and then I rinsed it off for a pleasantly cleansed but moisturized feeling. The mask is one of those that has a couple layers keeping it separated so it doesn’t get all attached to itself.

After removing the first layer, you place the microbial cellulose, which is a bit like another layer of skin, on to your face. It’s a very different texture from the cotton sheet masks I’ve mostly used. This natural fiber is eco-friendly and biodegradable which is cool to learn. This material was actually created for medical purposes to treat burn victims so it’s also extremely sterile, toxin free and pure.

It feels great on and isn’t drippy at all like a lot of sheet masks I’ve tried. This mask attaches right on and can’t really be moved once it is, hence why it’s not perfect in my pic above, but that also means there’s no slipping or falling off of the face. After removing and using the cream, my skin felt oh so soft and really was brighter. It’s become one of my favorite masks to date now. It’s definitely a winner and great for travelers since it’s an all-in-one.

Troiareuke H+ Cushion Review

What It Is: Cushion

Troiareuke has three cushion choices in their line currently with the Aesthetic Cushion which is for anti-aging, H+ Cushion for hydration, and the A+ Cushion for those with acne. I received the H+ Cushion after a consultation. The H+ foundation features ingredients including Antocyanin and Centella Asiatic.

The cushion is said to last 10 hours. Notable ingredients include niacinamide to improve the appearance of enlarged pores and uneven skin tone, portulaca oleracea extract with skin soothing properties, and centella asiatica leaf extract for intense hydration.

Troiareuke H+ Cushion

When To Use: After applying the UV Essence or other sun screen.

My Thoughts: I tried the H+ Cushion since I have dry skin. This medium/full coverage cushion is really great for days that I’m planning on going to events or to take lots of photos and want something full coverage. I don’t tend to wear foundations that are so full coverage but find this one very comfortable when I do wear it. It’s perfect for my skin which tends to the dryer side.

This cushion was quite hydrating for my skin much like the other products from Troiareuke which is why I’ve used them for a couple years. The cushion really evened out my skin tone and gave me a nice effect.I’m still figuring out what works best for my dry skin. Sometimes this looks quite flawless and other times, it didn’t quite have the same effect so I am still narrowing down the right routine to make it look the best on.

Troiareuke Acsen AC Spot Solution Review

What It Is: Blemish Solution

This SOS spot solution is a gel that helps the inflamed, itching, and redness that can occur when a pimple occurs. It contains 72% Centella Asiatica flower, leaf and stem extract which prevents the spread of acne. This is for all skin types and doesn’t include parabens, sulfates, or phthalates.

When To Use: As early as you notice a pimple appearing, acne, or red spots.

Troiareuke Acsen AC Spot Solution

My Thoughts: I don’t get pimples too often so it took awhile for me to use this. In the past, anything I’ve used on pimples I found stung or dried out my skin when it’s already dry which I didn’t like. This solution doesn’t do that. The ingredients help with healing, scarring, and is meant to prevent future blemishes. I found this helped to clear up serious pimples in about three days which was pretty stunning in my opinion.

Unfortunately, I’ve only been able to use it twice and didn’t take pics but did showcase it in my Instastories when it happened so I’ll have to take pictures for this post the next time a pimple shows it’s head. This is gentle but effective.

I also had my husband try this as he tends to have oily skin and also doesn’t often have pimples, but when he gets them, they usually last a couple weeks if not longer. His pimple lifespan was also dramatically shortened. Based on this, I’d say this works on multiple skin types, and is really something to try if you’re prone to acne and scarring. The texture is a gel and it after application there is a very cool feeling from the menthol.

I’ve got more Troiareuke products to use and review, but this is a good start if you’re looking into the company. They really have some great products. I highly recommend the Acsen Oil Cut Cleansing solution, TOC Toner, and the GPS Mask for sure but you almost can’t go wrong with anything the brand produces.

If you’re interested in more K-Beauty and Korean skincare companies, also look into Wish Formula. Wish Formula has some great products including their fermented hydra ceramide lotion and fermented hydra essential toner. I love them and am sure you will too.
