Atmosphere and Design
Step into a visual treat as Moxy Seoul Myeongdong welcomes you with a contemporary interior adorned with art installations, creating a modern and vibrant atmosphere. The industrial chic aesthetic of Bar Moxy, the hotel’s central social space, sets the tone for the entire stay, emphasizing the “more” in its “less is more” concept.
Previous to staying here, I visited the Moxy Seoul Insadong and I have to say, the ambiance of this brand is cool but approachable. You’ll want to spend quite a bit of time in the hotel just checking out all of the cool places and spaces that are yours to enjoy.
Moxy is vibrant, community-centered, and just generally cool. As soon as you step into their lobby/bar/communal space, you’ll know what I’m talking about. From artistic graffiti on the walls to neon lights, they manage to mix street with chic. There are free arcade games in one corner, a fireplace in another, and even small cubicles in one area if you want to sit back and get some work done without distraction.
Check-In Experience
Moxy Hotel has a unique check-in experience which involves checking in at the bar and getting a complimentary welcome cocktail (with or without alcohol) as you receive your room key from the Moxy Crew. The bar space at Moxy is created to be a multifunctional space that is simultaneously a dining room, library, play zone, living room, and cocktail lounge. There’s also a self-service grab-and-go area.
Room Experience
Moxy Seoul Myeongdong breaks the rules of conventional hotel stays with its tech-savvy and innovative room designs. The 205 rooms feature an open storage concept with a peg wall, offering a clever and modular design for a personalized space. The rooms are small yet smart, with dual-purpose and foldaway furniture that adapts to your needs. Whether you want to sit at a table and chairs to get some work done, or hang everything up and have space to do your morning yoga, you can find it.
The bathroom, with its bold industrial look, is equipped with Moxy’s signature MUK toiletries in vibrant pink bottles and even includes a heated seat lavatory for added comfort. The only thing that stood out to me as missing was bathroom robes which you can find in most hotels around the world. Other than that, the bathroom was sufficient on top of being uber stylish.
Facilities and Common Spaces
Enjoy the communal space where you can find curious cocktails, petite plates, and a lively atmosphere in the evening. As mentioned above, the same place you checked in, features numerous seating areas whether you want to study, work, chat, or play.
Even the laundry room, which is available for use at any time is cool and has a vibe. If you’re staying for a lengthy time or just like to pack everything back into your suitcase clean, don’t miss a stop in their Moxy laundry space.
Moxy Bar
Come evening the communal space is quite the cool bar in Myeongdong. Even if you’re not staying at the hotel, you should check out the bar. They have plenty of drinks to choose from and lots of delicious food whether it’s appetizers or full meals that you’re in the mood for. After a day out shopping and touring, it’s nice to be able to just go downstairs for a “night out” vibe right in the hotel. The staff are lively and inviting and even if you’re on your own, they’ll make sure you’re enjoying your time.

- Communal space great for remote work and fun.
