Lotte World Seoul: Discount Tickets, Magic Passes and How To Make The Most Of It
Last Updated on April 14, 2026
Lotte World (롯데월드 어드벤처) in Seoul is one of the largest indoor theme parks in the world, and it’s open 365 days a year, which means rain, heat, cold, and every Korean holiday is fair game. Right outside Jamsil Station, it’s one of the easiest theme parks to reach by public transport in the country, and a full day here covers everything from gentle carousel rides for toddlers to a pendulum swing that spins 360 degrees and a drop ride from 70 meters up.
My husband and I were brought here by a very enthusiastic child who wanted a theme park birthday, and we ended up enjoying it considerably more than we expected. This guide covers how to get discounted tickets, how the Magic Pass system works, which rides are worth the wait, and the crowd timing tips that most guides don’t mention.

Tickets and Discounts
Do not buy tickets at the door if you can avoid it. Door prices are the most expensive option and the queues can be long. Book online in advance for the best combination of price and convenience.
Lotte World Discount Ticket Options
Each booking site has slightly different options. You’ll want to check each and compare and see what is the right fit for you as well as check for updated pricing.
- Creatrip: Lotte Full Day Pass and Family Passes. With Creatrip, you can also get a package with Lotte World and Aquarium Access.
- Klook: Lotte World 1 day Pass. With Klook’s option, you can also add the Lotte World Aquarium, the Fast Track Magic Pass 1, Fast Track Magic Pass 3, Fast Track Magic Pass 5. They also
- Trazy: Lotte World Ticket (+ Premium Magic Pass optional). They also offer a Lotte World 1 Day Pass and Lotte World Aquarium Combo Discount Ticket.
After 4pm entry: A discounted evening rate is available for entry from 4:00pm. Lines are generally shorter at this time as daytime visitors start leaving. This is a good option for a shorter visit focused on the most popular rides.
Current pricing: Admission prices change regularly. Verify current rates at lotteworld.com or through Creatrip, Klook, and Trazy before visiting, the figures are not listed here to avoid giving outdated information.
Creatrip/Klook/Trazy ticket holders: Head to the Group Admission Ticket office rather than the standard ticket booths when you arrive. This is faster and where online booking tickets are processed.

What is Lotte World
Lotte World is divided into two sections, Adventure (indoor) and Magic Island (outdoor), connected by a bridge. The indoor section means weather is never a barrier: in winter you can warm up inside between outdoor rides, in summer you can cool down. The park is fun for a wide age range with a dedicated section for very young children, family-appropriate rides throughout, and thrill rides for adults who want them.
A Guide To Lotte World
Lotte World has a lot to offer any theme park lover. My husband and I were dragged there a bit by a very enthusiastic young child who wanted to have a theme park adventure for her birthday. Whether you have young children or older children or an adult, there is a lot to enjoy about a visit to Lotte World. You’ll also often see groups of children and teenagers that head there together.

Adventure (Indoor)
The indoor space of Lotte World is housed a beautifully tall enclosure with a glass ceiling letting a ton of light in throughout the day. Known as ‘Adventure’, there are 4 floors and after getting tickets, is the first area visitors come to. With so many rides inside, you don’t have to worry about inclement weather. In the winter you can go out and back in to warm up and in the summer you can go out and back in to cool down.
Rides and experiences you can find in Lotte World’s Adventure
- Camelot Carousel, Desperados, Fly Venture, The Adventures of Sinbad, Giant Loop, Kidzone, Fantasy Forest, Bumper Cars (for adults), French Revelution2 VR, Folk Museum, World Monorail, Jungle Adventure, Aeronauts Balloon Ride, Pharaoh’s Fury, Wild Wing, Dream Boots, Wild Valley, Wild Jungle, Dragon Train, 4D Shooting Theater

Magic Island (Outdoor)
The outdoor section of Lotte World is called ‘Magic Island’ and is beautifully situated on an island surrounded by water. You can cross over to Magic Island via a bridge from Adventure and it drops you right off in a photo-op spot popular with visitors where you can get a shot with you and the Lotte World Castle in the background.
Pro tip: Everyone queues on the right side of the escalator steps to get the castle shot with themselves in it. If you want the castle photo without waiting, go to the left side, you can get the same shot without being in anyone else’s frame, then walk straight to the rides.
Rides you can find in Lotte World’s Magic Island
- Monorail, Lord Nelson’s Armada, Gyro Swing, Comet Express, Ghost House, Swing Tree, Gyrop Drop, Bungee Drop, Atlantis Adventure

Best Rides For the Thrill Seekers
- Gyro Drop: A drop ride from 70 meters up. You rise slowly, take in a panoramic view of the area, and then fall at 100 kilometers an hour. Popular for good reason.
- Gyro Swing: A pendulum ride that swings back and forth while simultaneously spinning 360 degrees. Legitimately disorienting.
- Atlantis Adventure: A classic outdoor rollercoaster with twists, turns, and drops. A consistent crowd favorite.
- The Conquistador: A Viking ship-style ride modelled on a Spanish pirate galleon, swinging to 75 degrees.
Best Rides For Families with Children
- Aeronauts Balloon Ride: A slow, elevated ride around the indoor section giving a bird’s-eye view of Adventure below. The Lotte World signature ride for good reason.
- Camelot Carousel: 64 white horses on a classic carousel. Worth riding regardless of age.
- Adventures of Sinbad: An indoor water ride through underground waterways past fire-breathing dragons, pirate ships, and treasure. Entertaining for all ages.
- Drunken Baskets: Spinning cups with a rotating floor. You will be dizzy.
Best Rides for Very Young Children
Magic Boong Boong Car, Brother Moon and Sister Suns, Kid’s Bumper Car, Lotty’s Train, Swing Pang Pang, Eureka, Kidstoria, Beluga’s Talk Show, Dragon Train, Dream Boat, Kid’s Sightseeing Car, Petit Pang Pang, Merking’s Royal Pageant
- There’s a whole area with play areas and rides for the littlest of amusement park attendees and there are a few more outside that would work well for them too.

The Lotte World App and Magic Pass
The app is really useful. I didn’t even know there was an app but saw some students using it in the line ahead of us and asked them what it was. This app lets you see the show timings, ride wait times and ride closure and maintenance info.
You can also register your physical tickets on the app by scanning the QR code. Once you register your physical ticket, you actually get a free Magic Pass this way.
Free Magic Pass vs Premium Magic Pass
As mentioned above, you can get a free Magic Pass if you upload your physical ticket into the Lotte World Adventure app. However, there’s also a Premium Magic Pass so it’s important to know the difference.
Free Magic Pass (via app or ticket machines)
Once you register your tickets on the Lotte World Adventure app, you can find “Magicpass reservation” and pick which rides you want to go on and the timeslots that you’d prefer.
The reservation system on the app refreshes every 15 minutes and spots are reserved fast, so you want to be diligent and pay attention early on in your visit. Some of the really popular rides will be completely booked by early afternoon and won’t have any spots left.
You can also get the free Magic Pass via the ticketing machines that are in front of the rides. You just scan your physical copy and you’ll get a ticket with your ride time. Don’t lose these though.
Premium Magic Pass
Stored in your physical ticket and usable at anytime throughout the day without a reservation. Show up to the Magic Pass queue lane and staff will let you straight in, no time slot required.
Tips & Tricks: Use both together. Use the Premium Magic Pass for the rides with the longest queues (Gyro Drop, Atlantis, Gyro Swing). Use the free Magic Pass to reserve time slots on the moderately popular rides. This gets you on more rides in less total time than either pass alone.

When is Lotte World the busiest?
Weekends and major public holidays are the busiest times. Early afternoon is the peak within any given day. Going early (park opens at 9:30am) or after 4:00pm are the two best strategies for shorter queues.
Avoid these specific dates if you have flexibility: Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) and Seollal (Lunar New Year): Both are national holidays when Lotte World is at maximum capacity. These holidays are based on the lunar calendar so they change each year. Check the calendar before you visit.
Suneung day (수능): The annual College Scholastic Ability Test, Korea’s equivalent of university entrance exams, is taken once a year by high school seniors. Every other student in the country has the day off. A significant portion of them go to Lotte World, which is when we also went one year… I don’t recommend it. This is not a day that appears on any standard “avoid” list for tourists, but it should. Suneung is held on the third Thursday of November.
Seasonal Events and Parades
One of the things that makes Lotte World especially appealing around the holiday is there holiday themed parades. Their live performances and parade make a wide circle inside and everyone stops to watch. It’s super fun to see in person and a great way to get into the holiday spirit. This is just one of the great things to do when celebrating Christmas in Seoul.

At Christmas, Santa Claus, elves, dancing gifts and Christmas trees and more make their way around the Lotte World to the amusement of kids and adults alike. Make sure you make a note of what time the performances are and where they are so you can get a good seat and enjoy the show.

Halloween is another time that is especially popular, especially with the older kids. There is a lot of Halloween decor and some some zombie fun with haunted houses and performances. It can get pretty spooky.
Lockers
Lockers are located at all park entrances and are worth using if you’re spending a full day, carrying bags on rides is impractical and secure storage makes the day considerably easier.
FAQ
Is Lotte World worth visiting for adults without children?
Yes. The thrill rides like Gyro Drop, Gyro Swing, Atlantis, Bungee Drop are legitimately enjoyable for adults, and the park’s atmosphere is distinctive and fun regardless of age. Lotte World is popular with groups of Korean teenagers and young adults, so the energy is good even without children in tow.
How long do you need at Lotte World?
A full day (9:30am to closing) to see everything. A half day (afternoon entry after 4pm) is enough for the highlights if you use a Magic Pass strategically on the most popular rides. If you have very young children, a full day is necessary since the pace is slower and breaks are more frequent.
Is the Magic Pass worth buying?
For weekend visits or any busy day, the Premium Magic Pass pays for itself in time saved. Queues for the top rides regularly reach 60-90 minutes. The Premium Magic Pass eliminates that wait entirely on up to 5 or 10 rides. On quieter weekdays, the free Magic Pass via the app may be sufficient without the premium cost.
What is the difference between Lotte World and Everland?
Everland is Korea’s largest theme park but sits about an hour outside Seoul in Gyeonggi Province so getting there requires more planning. Lotte World is smaller but directly adjacent to a subway station in central Seoul, making it significantly more convenient. Everland has more outdoor space and rollercoasters; Lotte World has the large indoor section making it more weather-reliable.
Can I buy tickets at the entrance?
Yes, but it’s the most expensive option and the queues can be long. Booking in advance through Creatrip, Klook, or Trazy is cheaper and faster. Pick up pre-booked tickets at the Group Admission Ticket office rather than the standard booths.
What can I do in the surrounding Jamsil area?
The Lotte World Mall is adjacent with shops, restaurants, and the Lotte World Aquarium. Seoul Sky, the observatory at the top of Lotte Tower, is bookable as part of a combo pass. Seokchon Lake is a short walk away and especially beautiful in spring during cherry blossom season.
Know your rides, download the app the moment you arrive, reserve your Magic Pass slots before the afternoon crowds wipe them out, and use the photo-op tip at the Magic Island bridge to save yourself a 10-minute wait for a castle shot. Done right, it’s a fun full day.

Hello, love your blog and it’s been most helpful to give me insights of places to visit in SK. I have a question and hope that you can help me as I’ve been trying to figure it out but can’t seem to get an actual answer. I want to buy the premium Magic Pass but I can’t seem to find a place where I can buy it. Is it we can only buy the premium magic pass on the day itself at the physical ticket counter?
Elaine
Hi there! Love your blog, it has been so helpful for planning our upcoming trip to Seoul! We are planning to go to lotte world with kids age 1 and 3yo. Do you think a premium magic pass is required? Since we are not going to go on all the thrill rides. Are the kiddy rides usually less crowded? Planning to go on a Monday! Thank you!
Hallie Bradley
The area for kids that young is definitely not as crowded in my experience. I don’t think you’d really use the premium magic pass, not for that area anyway, unless you or your partner want to scatter away real quick to try and ride something more thrilling and want to ensure you have a time booked, then you could use that.
