Who Is Korelimited?

Korelimited is a Korean streetwear brand based in LA that was launched in 2013. They are all about creating designs that represent Korean history and culture but they do it in a funky young way so don’t expect traditional Hanboks or even a modern Hanbok for that matter. They bring Korean history and culture out through modern fashion that would really suit anyone.

‘Kore’ – Keeping Our Roots Eternal

Korelimited has been picked up by quite a few celebrities so you may have already seen some of their products without realizing it. One of my favorite celeb sightings was when Sandra Oh wore a Korelimited custom bomber jacket in purple and in Hangul it read ‘Black Lives Are Precious’. She wore the jacket for the Emmys in 2020 and not only was she supporting a cause we should all be supporting but she was doing it as she paid homage to her Korean heritage. It was a striking moment.

Other celebrity sightings have included Cho Arden, Tiger JK, SanE, Lee Jin Joo from DNCE, and Kim Jong Kook.

My Review

The clothing is eye-catching: I really like the color choices by the brand. They’re always very appealing. The streetstyle clothing is comfortable but cool and while I’m not a very sport person, their clothes even works for my more hippy vibes. There is really something for everyone.

Conversation starters: While the clothing is not overtly filled with messages, there are various words and design that pay homage to Korean culture and history and they are definitely conversation starters.

Basics To Hats: There are a lot of options in terms of clothing types. I’ve gotten sweatshirts, pants, and a jacket from the brand and each piece has been great and well-made. We’ve also got a hat that was fun too.

Speaking of the hat. I laughed out loud when I saw it and if you get it, you get it. The design plays with the Eggo design, you know those waffles you can cook up in your toaster? But also has the Hangul ‘ㅛ’ beneath so you could also read it as ‘Eggyo’ or maybe ‘Aegyo’, that cute way of speaking you hear in Korean.

Cute? Annoying? Well, it’s up to you to judge. Yeah, the hat is funny though… don’t you think? It just made me laugh. Some of the messaging on the apparel is serious while other messaging is humorous, and I dig that.

A Size For Everyone: Korelimited offers their clothing in sizes from small up to 2XL so they really try to make sure that more people can wear and enjoy their products.

High Quality: The products are really well made. Not only would this make for a great product for yourself, but it would also make a great gift. The material is high quality and the embroidery well done so it’s worth the buck.

Collaborations: The brand does a lot of collaborations with idols and celebrities so it’s fun to keep looking out and seeing who they’re working with. They create limited edition runs of the clothing so you really want to keep checking back consistently to see what is new.

Historically Interesting: As in, the brand takes care to feature Korean historic events and periods like the March 1st Movement, the Japanese occupation, the Joseon Dynasty and more. If you have any interest in Korean history, you’ll like these hints to the past.

Why You Need To Buy Their Clothes FAST

Korelimited make interesting pieces in limited edition runs so if you see something you like, you need to jump on it to purchase. Once they’re gone… they’re gone. They come out with different collections each season so you always have something to look forward to, but you also need to purchase what you want ASAP because sizes do run out.

What Symbolism Can Be Found In Korelimited’s Clothing

There is a lot more than meets the eye in the designs and if you know what you’re looking at, it will make the clothing even more appealing if you ask me. Here is some of the imagery they have used in the past and what it refers to:

  • Mugunghwa: the national flower of South Korea.
  • The Korean dragon :symbolic of wisdom, serenity, justice, and fortune
  • 1988: the year Seoul hosted the Summer Olympics becoming the second Asian host nation. It helped put Seoul on the map globally.
  • Trigrams or stripes and colors from the Korean flag can be seen on a lot of the apparel
  • 3.1/March 1st: a holiday in Korea now, this day is an important moment in Korean history when Korean people pushed for their independence.
  • The Korean tiger: considered a sacred creature that symbolizes good luck and protection from evil spirits.
  • King Sejong: the creator of Hangul, the Korean alphabet

There is so much more, and that is exactly why Korelimited clothing is cool. Look at the imagery closely to see what each piece of apparel is representing and saying about Korea.

How Can I Clean My Korelimited Clothing?

A general rule that is safe to follow for all of their apparel is to flip the clothes inside out and machine wash cold, tumble dry low. Washing in warm water typically does not pose a big problem as well. Here in Korea, we don’t have a dryer so we just wash in cold water and air dry and our clothes stand up well.

For non-sweatshirt jackets (e.g. windbreaker, bomber jacket), they recommend air drying anyway. For all hats, it is best to hand wash and air dry. Keep in mind that most of their items are 100% cotton and will shrink a bit in the dryer.

What Payment Options Does Korelimited Accept?

They accept credit and debit cards as well as payment via Paypal. You can get shopping right here on Korelimited’s site.

Does KoreLimited Ship Worldwide?

YES! I’ve received clothing from KoreLimited while both in Korea and the US and have never had a problem with the shipment. Shipments usually take between 2-5 business days in the US and 7-12 business days for international delivery. No reason to wait. Go buy and get it fast!

Are There Duties or Taxes On International Shipments?

There might be so be aware of the import policy in your country. In Korea, for example, you’ll want to keep your orders below $150.00 no matter what you’re buying, whether it’s health goods from iHerb or clothing from Korelimited. If it comes through and is listed as having more than that, customs will make a call to you about paying further taxes.

I may or may not share all of my Korelimited apparel with my husband… okay I do. We both dig their styles and fit and will definitely keep an eye out on what they’re making.

I received my Korelimited clothing for free from the brand though was never asked to write a post. I wrote this past after enjoying their clothing for more than a year and using it in a variety of situations and places.

Korelimited is awesome. Their apparel is comfy and high quality. I got the black sweats, but your sweats are an awesome shade. I didn’t get the hoodie, but the hoodie looks awesome, too!
