Ever Healthcare: Easy Access to Korean Beauty Treatments
As someone who went from “I think I want to grow old gracefully” to “You can pry my youthful skin out of my cold, dead hands,” I naturally jumped at the chance to try out Ever Healthcare’s concierge service and get some Botox and anti-aging laser treatments.
I’ve noticed that over the last few years my skin has been looking thinner and the wrinkles on my forehead deepening. Knowing numerous people in Seoul who spoke enthusiastically about their own experiences with this anti-aging treatment, I was keen to try it but completely unsure of where to go. Choices can be overwhelming, especially when it comes to cosmetic treatments, so it was something of a relief to have help with making that decision.

Ever Healthcare
Ever Healthcare is a one-stop service platform that enables access to the most suitable care worldwide. Not just in Korea, Ever Healthcare has partnered with more than 120 hospitals and clinics in Thailand, Korea, India, Turkey, and Latin America and are continuing to add more. They curate medical and aesthetic treatments for patients around the world and also have a global network of hotels, insurance, transportation and other service providers so that they can provide a comprehensive travel experience centered on health and wellness.
Ever Healthcare wants to provide access to high quality healthcare to everyone and uses their personalized telehealth platform to do that. Patients are able to compare procedures and clinics, get a consultation, and book their healthcare solution. They are trying to redefine the customer experience making it easier for people now more comfortable with a digital lifestyle.
ID Hospital
Sinsa’s ID Hospital is a large operation specialising in facial bone contouring surgery and offering a variety of treatments including hair restoration and dentistry. Their surgeons are all board-certified and their respective qualifications can be seen on the English version of the hospital website. The “petit” area of the hospital, where smaller cosmetic treatments such as Botox are offered, looks like something out of a K-pop video. We visited to take a tour of ID Hospital with an Ever Healthcare representative to learn more about how they’re working with reputable hospitals and clinics in Korea.
ATOP Beauty Clinic and ATOP Plastic Surgery Clinic
Located in Gangnam, ATOP Beauty Clinic and ATOP Plastic Surgery Clinic provide a range of procedures from botox to breast augmentation. Their slogan is “ATOP designs your brightest moments in life”. Their surgeons are all board-certified. In addition to providing care to customers in Korea year round, they also place an emphasis on providing social contributions and send a medical team to Hebron Hospital in Cambodia each year to provide voluntary medical services.
My Experience
Ever Healthcare made an appointment on my behalf with ATOP Beauty Clinic in Gangnam and I went off not really knowing what to expect. This clinic has clearly put a lot of thought into the design of the space, which is not entirely necessary but a very nice touch and immediately comforting. Their concept is to make it feel more like a luxury spa.
English Language Assistance
I first met with the lovely Sky, who offers English language assistance to any English speakers who visit the clinic. Even as someone with a fairly high Korean level, it was reassuring to have her there as she was able to explain the suggested procedures to me when I wasn’t sure I fully understood. Sky is fluent in English and so can help any English speakers who visit the clinic, regardless of their Korean language knowledge.
Consultation
I was taken into a consultation room to discuss my concerns, which were mainly the wrinkles on my forehead and my double chin. With the help of Sky and the consultant, I was given some suggestions and settled on the course of treatment: Botox, Vtop injections, Ulthera laser and Shurink laser. In combination, these were designed to reduce the wrinkles on my forehead, give my face a little lift and reduce the severity of my double chin.
I was taken into a private room with a fluffy blanket and I had some numbing cream applied to my chin and jawline. I chatted to Sky about her work while we waited for the cream to take effect. Then I was introduced to the doctor who talked me through the procedures I was about to have, and the order in which I would be having them.
Ultherapy
What is it
We started with Ultherapy, which is an FDA-approved firming laser treatment from the U.S. The treatment uses ultrasound technology to heat the skin, which boosts collagen production and helps to tighten and lift parts of your face that you would like to give some extra attention.
How it went
This is strongest of the laser treatments I received, so it was focused on my lower chin, which was the area I felt most concerned about. I would love to say this was painless but that would be a lie. The laser treatment has to be repeated a few times in the same place, so, though the first couple of shots were almost completely painless, it started to sting a little as the area was covered a few more times. It’s certainly not unbearable, but it is the most painful of the treatments that I had. As I requested, the doctor made small talk with me to distract me from the pain.
Shurink
What is it
The next was the Shurink treatment. Similar to the Ulthera laser treatment, it’s designed to lift and firm skin, but this Korean-made laser treatment is a little less powerful and therefore, less painful and less expensive for the customer.
How it went
This laser was used all over the lower half of my face, from my cheeks down to my double chin, and it was definitely a more comfortable experience than the Ulthera laser.
My double chin offered two challenges, the first being fat, the second being enlarged saliva glands, which is a concept I’d never even heard of. To tackle these issues, I was given the Vtop injection to melt the chin fat away, and botox to shrink my saliva glands.
Vtop Pure Injections
What is it
Vtop injections are designed to reduce unwanted fat in areas such as your cheeks and under your chin. Vtop injections include steroids, which are absent from the slightly more gentle Vtop Pure injections, and after a discussion with the consultant we agreed that Vtop Pure would be the best option for me.
How it went
There were a number of injections administered across my jawline and under my chin. The doctor told me how many I’d be having (a number I don’t remember now), so I knew exactly what to expect. The pain wasn’t too bad thanks to the numbing cream.
Botox
What is it
Botox injections have a number of uses, from slimming down wide jawlines to reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Botox blocks signals in the nerves that cause muscles to contract, temporarily relaxing the muscles around the injection site.
How it went
The injections into my saliva glands were administered first, followed by the injections into my forehead. These were probably the fastest treatments. The injections to my saliva glands were definitely more painful.
Results
After the treatment my face was quite red and a little swollen. I had some bruising from the injections in my chin and I was a little sore but it definitely wasn’t too bad. Unfortunately, it takes a week or two for the results to show, so I didn’t get to walk in 35 and walk out looking 30.
As a naturally impatient person, this was somewhat disappointing. However, one of the things I liked about the experience is that the Atop staff also get the same treatments there, so before I left I was able to chat to them about their own results and their personal experiences.
I had some slight swelling for a couple of days, so I wouldn’t recommend getting the treatment immediately before an event. Over the following two weeks my forehead appeared plumper, my skin more taut and my double chin was somewhat reduced.
As someone who is very averse to voluntarily undergoing something painful, regardless of the supposed results, I had remarked after the treatment that even though the pain wasn’t too bad, I might not come back. “Everyone comes back once they see the results,” I was told. I didn’t believe them, but I have to say I’m a convert.
Aftercare
After the procedure, I was able to keep in contact with Sky via KakaoTalk during work hours and outside of working hours, I was able to speak to Ever Healthcare’s employees via the chat function on the website. Though unable to provide any detailed medical information, Ever Healthcare offered to set up a follow-up appointment for me at the clinic to have my questions answered by a doctor. I didn’t have any major concerns but it was comforting to know there were people on hand to answer my questions or point me in the right direction.

All cosmetics treatments have an additional 10% tax cost, so including the tax, my treatments totaled 1,197,900 won.
