The Soul of Seoul Tours: Hanboks, Tea & Gold Recap
This past weekend, The Soul of Seoul Tours held our Hanboks, Tea & Gold event and boy was it fun, not to mention beautiful! The group started at a Hanbok rental shop at 10:00am and was dressed head, and some, to toe in traditional Korean clothing. Each person chose from a selection of brightly colored skirts and tops, changed and then had their hair done. They had the option to carry a provided purse as well so the whole outfit could be in the style of traditional Korea. Scavenging For S(e)oul: Recap
At the end of last month The Soul of Seoul Tours hosted our first event under the title of Scavenging For S(e)oul. Teams raced from Gwanghwamun through Jongno along the Cheonggyecheon into Bukchon and Gwangjang Market, down to Dongdaemun and eventually turned up at 3 Alley in Itaewon. The teams were provided with 40 clues that took them to specific locations as well as asked them to look for matchy matchy couples, dyed dogs and ajjussis in hiking gear. Seoul Lotus Lantern Festival 2026: Parade Route, Dates & Local Tips For Visitors
The Seoul Lotus Lantern Festival, also called Yeondeunghoe (연등회) in Korean, is one of the largest Buddhist festivals in Korea and celebrates Buddha’s birthday with massive lantern parades, cultural events, and temple decorations throughout the city. In celebration of Buddha’s birthday, this spring festival takes place over a few days with events around downtown Seoul from morning into the evening. Colorful lanterns are strung up around the city in anticipation of the event and then over 100,000 more lanterns are lit and paraded down the main streets of the capital. Gastro Tour Seoul @ The K-Style Hub
This past week, I was invited by the founder of Gastro Tour Seoul, Veronica Tae-Ahn Kang, to attend a tour at the new K-Style Hub. I’ve of course heard about Gastro for a few years but just hadn’t had the chance to go on a tour so I jumped at the invitation. The K-Style Hub is the new tourist information center downtown and is really modern and chic inside, a great step up from the previous location. For the next two weekends, The Seoul Shakespeare Company will be performing the play Titus Andronicus. Considered to be Shakespeare’s first play, Titus Andronicus weaves a tale of mystery and intrigue with love, horror, violence and racism. Marche@ Munchies: A Monthly Artisanal Market
This artisan market is relatively new, only starting in October of last year, but they sure have a following. Vendors selling handmade soy candles, bags, aprons and other crafts sit next to vendors selling organic treats and drinks for those food lovers out there.
