AXIS-Y: Water Your Skin Ultra Hydration Set Review

Water Your Skin Ultra Hydration Set

What is it? This is a product that AXIS-Y just launched this month. It includes a travel size of the Sunday Morning Refreshing Cleansing Foam, Aqua Boosting Essence Toner, Advanced Aqua Boosting Ampoule, and the Heartleaf My Type Calming Cream. This is a product that aims to introduce customers to AXIS-Y’s hydrating routine from start to finish.

This set was put together after AXIS-Y noticed a trend of customers that had dehydrated skin. Whether they had oily skin, or normal, everyone has dehydrated skin from time to time. In effort to let people try their entire hydrating regimen, they made a travel size set and put them together. Good idea? I absolutely think it is.

AXIS-Y: Water Your Skin Ultra Hydration Set Review

Sunday Morning Refreshing Cleansing Foam

This low pH cleansing foam promises to cleanse dirt, excess oils, and impurities without stripping the skin. This foam, which is recommended for all skin types, cleanses but keeps skin moisturized and balanced at the same time.

  • The 6 Base Ingredients: green tea, licorice, allantoin, calendula, chamomile, centella asiatica
  • The 1 Core Ingredient: birch sap
  • The 1 Effective Technology: aquaxyl

My Thoughts: Starting off the regimen is the Sunday Morning Refreshing Cleansing Foam which is a very soft foam that gently removes the dirt, grime, and oil from the skin. My skin loved this cleanser. It doesn’t strip my skin cleaned thoroughly and comfortably and still my skin feels hydrated after use. In the grand hydrating AXIS-Y regime, this is the perfect start.

Where To Buy: You can buy the original size products on YesStyle.com or on Amazon.com.

This toner has ingredients like heartleaf, centella asiatica, and mugwort to calm and soothe the skin and give it a refreshed glow. It also has madecassoside which is known to stimulate collagen production.

AXIS-Y: Aqua Boosting Essence Toner Review

My Thoughts: Toners are really hit or miss with me. I don’t like the watery solutions that just don’t seem to hit the hydration mark, at least for my skin. The Aqua Boosting Essence Toner was just up my alley though. This toner is a thicker, more viscous, toner that doesn’t have any discernible scent.

I don’t use cotton pads or anything to apply, but just put in my hand and then dab onto my face as soon as I’m done cleansing. It is very easy to handle because it’s not watery, and is easy to spread. It’s takes a couple minutes to really absorb, a bit longer than some other toners I’ve tried, but the effects are supple skin and there was no leftover tackiness or stickiness.

Where To Buy: You can buy the original size products on YesStyle.com or on Amazon.com

Ingredients: Water, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Dimethyl Sulfone, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Glycerin, Carbomer, Arginine, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Xanthan Gum, Allantoin, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Polyquaternium-51, Beta-Glucan, Panthenol, Squalane, Caprylyl Glycol, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water, Tocopherol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Lactobionic Acid, Bifida Ferment Lysate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Artemisia Capillaris Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate, Madecassoside, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Potassium Hyaluronate, Sodium Phytate, Ethylhexylglycerin

Advanced Aqua Boosting Ampoule

Formulated with the 10-hyaluronic acid for nourishing skin down 10 layers deep, this ampoule also utilizes centella asiatica extract and purslane which provides an intense hydration… with a calming side effect.

  • The 6 Base Ingredients: centella asiatica, purslane, madecassic acid, asiatica acid, asiaticoside, madecassoside
  • The 1 Core Ingredient: hyaluronic acid
  • The 1 Effective Technology: ANTI-SEBUM P(HD) 0.5%

My Thoughts: The Advanced Aqua Boosting Ampoule is just slightly thicker than the toner I think. Unscented, the ampoule was also easily spread on my skin and was quite cooling to the skin. It wasn’t so quick to absorb, so I’d usually apply and then, if it’s the evening, help my daughter put on pjs real quick before going back to apply the cream. The slow absorption didn’t bother me at all and once it was absorbed, I found it very hydrating.

Where To Buy: You can buy the travel-size set directly on the AXIS-Y website.

Ingredients: Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, PVP, Glycerin, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Caprylyl Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Glyceryl Glucoside, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Flower Extract, Ulmus Davidiana Root Extract, Pueraria Lobata Root Extract, Pinus Palustris Leaf Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Tocopherol, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Madecassic Acid, Asiatic Acid, Madecassoside, Asiaticoside, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Potassium Hyaluronate, Disodium EDTA, Hydroxyacetophenone, Ethylhexylglycerin

Heartleaf My Type Calming Cream

This lightweight calming cream is made with heartleaf and centella asiatica to sooth irritated, dry, and dehydrated skin and it’s rich in anti-oxidants. For those that are more acne-prone or have sensitive skin, there are also anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

  • The 6 Base Ingredients: centella asiatica, sage, allantoin, licorice, sorghum, aspergillus ferment
  • The 1 Core Ingredient: heartleaf
  • The 1 Effective Technology: ANTOXYL_S II

My Thoughts: When it came to the Heartleaf My Type Calming Cream, I found the gel consistency really nice and was a perfect cream for layering, or topping with make-up afterward. It’s extremely soothing and spread easily and doesn’t have a greasy finish. It has definitely amped up my sad winter skin.

My skin was glowing and supple after using the entire regimen and I would definitely repurchase all of these but in their original larger size.

Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum

What is it? Serum

This is a niacinamide-based serum that is meant to correct dark spots and improve uneven skin tone. This product has a plant-derived squalane that helps skin to retain moisture to keep skin glowing and looking healthy. If you have concerns about pigmentation or dark spots, this product is for you. The Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum is a vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, mineral-oil free product with no artificial fragrances or artificial colors.

AXIS-Y: Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum Review
  • The 6 Base Ingredients: squalane, papaya, sea buckthorn, rice bran, allantoin, calendula
  • The 1 Core Ingredient: niacinamide (5%)
  • The 1 Effective Technology: niacinamide + rice bran

My Thoughts: The first thing to note is the packaging. I appreciate the pump top because it’s easy to control and provides just the right amount. To be honest, I can easily be paying attention to my kid and put too much in my palm but with a pump, it’s a squirt and we’re good.

I love the texture of this serum. It’s lightweight and absorbs into the skin quickly. It’s smooth and soft and definitely makes my skin hydrated and supple. There was no irritation at all, but as for the dark spots, I think it’ll take a bit more time to see the full results. I have used it for two weeks straight and have seen some fading but from what I’ve read, it’ll take a good month at least to fall in love with that aspect of the serum. The hydrating effects were easily visible though. I do think my skin has looked brighter since beginning use.

Where To Buy: You can buy it directly on the AXIS-Y website or on YesStyle.com, or on Amazon.com

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Propanediol, Erythritol, Butylene Glycol, Squalane, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract, Malpighia Glabra (Acerola)Fruit Extract, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Chlorphenesin, Arginine, Ethylhexylglycerin, Carbomer, Glutathione, 1,2-Hexanediol, Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin, Disodium EDTA, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Allantoin, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil

Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen

What is it? Sunscreen

The Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen is a mugwort based  SPF50+ PA++++ sunscreen that protects skin from UVA and UVB damage while also providing skin-loving ingredients for a no stress life, as AXIS-Y says. This sunscreen is eco-friendly and reef safe and has no parabens, mineral oil, or artificial colors or fragrances.

AXIS-Y: Complete No-Stress Physical Sunscreen Review
  • The 6 Base Ingredients: calendula, grape, green tea, chamomile, squalane, allantoin
  • The 1 Core Ingredient: mugwort
  • The 1 Effective Technology: SYN-COLL

My Thoughts: In mineral sunscreens, you’d expect there to be a white cast. It’s been my experience at least. With this sunscreen, there is an initial white cast with the first application but it rubs in fairly thoroughly. I do think there’s a bit of brightening or a “tone up” in my skin though.

My daughter commented that I was a bit “pinker” after application. There’s not a stark white cast but maybe remnants in this case. I think this would be a good summer sunscreen, but in the winter when I have quite dry skin, this left a bit of a chalky feeling. I did put make-up on top and I didn’t find any issues with that. I’ll be interested to see how this does in the summer when it’s more hot and humid here.
