Who is SKIN1004

SKIN1004 is a Korean skincare brand that was first launched in 2012. They focus on using high-quality raw materials with a focus on the Centella Asiatica sourced from Madagascar. SKIN1004 is passionate about using safe ingredients that are good for people with sensitive or irritated skin and are a cruelty free Korean skincare brand. They avoid common irritants like alcohol, parabens, triethanolamine, artificial fragrances and colors.

What It Is and What It Promises To Do

This vegan clay mask is meant to soothe sensitive skin and purify pores for clearer healthier skin. The Kaolin clay absorbs excess sebum, but it’s less drying and gentler than betonite. The red bean powder buffs away dead skin cells and the aloe barbadensis leaf extract has moisturizing and anti-inflammatory benefits.

How to use it

  1. Cleanse your face.
  2. Apply the clay mask to your face, avoiding the eyes and mouth area. I applied two layers.
  3. After 3 to 5 minutes, rinse the mask away with lukewarm water.

My Thoughts

This is hands down the easiest-to-apply clay mask I’ve ever used. It glides easily over the skin without tugging, and there’s no mess to deal with. The lack of scooping from a jar or dealing with dried-up product in a tube was a real winner. Also, it was great to travel with. I just took it on a three week trip to Australia. There’s no overpowering fragrance, making it ideal for those sensitive to strong scents.

My skin is on the drier side so I’m always on the lookout for hydrating skincare options, no matter the season, no matter the time of day. After rinsing, my skin felt deeply cleansed but not tight or dry. The pores around my nose looked noticeably clearer, and my skin felt refreshed.

While it doesn’t provide an intense hydration boost, it does a fantastic job of clearing out impurities without stripping moisture which made my skin an ideal canvas for my favorite hydrating products.
