I had exactly the same experience in 2022 in Kookmin Bank (KB).
    Almost the same conversation:
Me: Hi I want to open a joined account
    Worker: It is very complicated
    Me: But is it possible?
    Worker: Yes
    Me: Lets do it.
    Worker: I don’t recommend it
    Me: Why?
    Worker: Because…
    Me: Why?
    Worker: There are limitations
Me: Like in my account? After 3 months i took those limitations off. Can it be done with the joint account too?
    Worker: It is difficult?
    Me: Why?
    Worker: There are conditions…
    Me: WHAT CONDITIONS….?
Worker: This list… is in Korean…
I translate them with google translator… as it seemed this woman did not want to help at all
Me: So the same conditions as with a normal account?
    Worker: Yes
    ….
Worker: I recommend just opening an account under your name and use it like a shared account…

It just seems like bank workers never want to work. They just want to do easy transactions… do not bother them with any questions or any more complicated things.
I have tried asking about my own personal bank account when I was opening it, and it was horrible to get simple answers to simple questions.
I am not sure whether it is because of language barrier, or just laziness.
I thought Koreans would be obliging or accomodating, but most of the time they seem they don’t want to help.
They want to be doing things. Not talking and answering questions…
But most of the time that leads them to doing the wrong things.
